Her moan goes straight to my cock. I should tell her about my parents. It’s not a secret, most of the town knows, it’s just a sore subject. I shouldn’t have turned my back on her.

“This is really good,” she says as she feeds me a bite of potatoes. I know it’s good because I’ve cooked it for her before.

“These are your specialty,” she says, recalling that memory.

“Thank you,” I take another bite from her.

“I always liked your cooking,” she says softly. I just nod as we continue to share.

“How’s yours, Snow?” Skye asks in between bites.

Snow smiles at Dayton and gives a thumbs up. He and Jimmy traded partners. Sal was okay with it.

Mallory and Mckenna seem to be enjoying theirs as well.

“Thank you for the tip,” Zack says as Victoria smiles at him.

“You were right, Skye, trout is good,” Alexa grins.

You can tell Kara and Kelsey hate whatever they’re eating. Kelsey took a bite and turned and spat the fish in Stan’s face. He’s not a cook, he’s a suit who works on Wall Street. He has enough money to employ a cook. I kind of feel bad for him.

“Linc, Mason, get your girls, time for your dates,” Carlton breaks up the silent eating.

Snow and Mckenna wave.

“They don’t deserve a date,” Kelsey bitches. Guess my speech didn’t faze her.

The four of us file into the van.

“Where are we going?”

“No idea, but it’s kind of exciting,” I say. I’m glad to be away from the others for a while.

We pull into the bar that Memphis went to last season. I love to dance.

“Dancing!” Mallory squeals and drags me in, the guys trailing. We find a table and wait for the guys to bring drinks.

“I needed a break,” Mallory says. I like this bar, the music isn’t loud, and people are dancing but it’s not crowded.

“Me too.”

“I’d like to go back to that market sometime though,” she says.

“Anytime you visit,” I tell her.

“Mason is buying a home in Hickory,” she says coyly.

“Well, shit, are you going to . . .”

“I think so. No matter what happens on the show.”

“It’s not too soon?”

“Sometimes you just know,” she says.

“I agree.”
