“Movies, six hundred dollars.”

“What year did the first South Park episode air?”

“Nineteen Ninety-Seven,” Linc yells and I high-five him.

We work well as a team.

“History, eight hundred dollars.”

“Why didn’t you choose rodeo?” I ask him.

“The board is almost wiped out and we’re ahead. It’s almost over. And you’re good at history,” he says. And I smile. This gesture means everything. I will take the compliment.

“Which President was elected to more than two terms?”

I wait for a minute to see if anyone buzzes in. When no one does, I lightly tap my buzzer.

“Skye?” London asks.

“FDR.”

“That is correct,” London winks at me.

“We’re going to make this next one the last question,” Saylor says. “Since there are two teams without points, this is for them. And you can ask a friend,” Sal says.

“Dayton and Lily, Mckenna and Dean, this is for you, but you’re playing separately,” London specifies.

Well, that changes everything.

“How many symphonies did Beethoven write?” Saylor asks as she turns on a timer. “Two minutes.”

Dayton walks over to where we are and gestures to me and Mallory, “Well?”

Linc and Jimmy shake their heads, and Mason says he doesn’t know. I know the answer and I think Mallory does as well.

I smile at him as Mallory writes down the answer.

“You sure?” he asks us. I look at the paper and nod.

“Yes,” Mallory assures him.

We watch as Lily asks Kelsey, who looks clueless. Dean asks Zack. Mckenna just stands there.

“Time’s up,” London says.

“Dayton?”

“Nine.”

“Lily?”

“A hundred?” I almost laugh at that answer. She has no clue. I doubt she even knows who Beethoven is.

“Dean?”

“Five?”

“Mckenna?”
