They don’t think they are being loud, but they are.

“I did, right there in the barn. She was really wanting it,” Zack boasts. I know if I say something, it will just be like high school. I’d be feeding that rumor. If I don’t say anything, I will be doing the same.

“You didn’t?” Alexa asks and I shake my head.

“He’s a liar,” Snow tells her.

“People suck,” Mckenna says and I have to agree.

I know Linc heard all that.

“Guys, time to pick,” Carlton calls out to us.

We gather and Carlton tells the audience the results.

“Linc, you won the whole thing, so you pick first.”

“I pick Victoria,” and there is a gasp from everyone, including me.

I guess he believes Zack since my reputation followed me to the show.

Chapter Twenty-Three

Lincoln

Idon’t want to believe Zack, but she’s been acting funny and this is what she did to Memphis.

Maybe I should have asked her, and on top of that, I picked the girl who is the worst since Lily left. I always did know how to pick them.

“Glad you came around,” Victoria smiles at me.

I don’t smile back.

“Girls, keep the same cabins, boys move,” Carlton tells us. I didn’t even hear who picked Skye. Probably Zack.

I head to the cabin, grab my things out of the bathroom, and throw them in my bag as Mason walks in.

“Really?”

“Well, I didn’t want her to end up with douchebag Zack. I know he’s lying about her and so do you. Think about that.”

“And who is Mallory with?”

“Zack,” he replies, throwing his stuff on the bed, kicking off his boots and making himself at home.

I just shake my head.

“Good luck. She will lie to your face,” I say, slamming the door.

I catch Skye’s eye as I turn to walk to my new cabin.

“I didn’t sleep with him,” she says sadly and then disappears into the trees.

I think it was better when I hated her, when she was nothing to me. It was easier than letting my heart break.

“You’re home,” Victoria squeals.

I shrug her off and drop my bag. We are supposed to get to know our new bunkmate. Carlton said we have to answer questions later about our new partner. I’ll get the rundown from her later.
