“I like that,” Alexa agrees, Mckenna nods as well.

“And then what?” I need something more than that. If I’m going to try and show him how much I care, I need something big.

“We’re going to get a ring,” Ariel tells me.

“We’re what?” I don’t think I heard her right.

“A ring.”

“For?” Where is this going?

“To propose. The guy doesn’t always have to be the one to propose,” Ever says.

“I don’t think . . . ” Fear of rejection. I’m almost in a panic.

“You love him?” Mckenna asks.

I nod, because I do. I love him with all my heart. I need him like I need air to breathe.

“Then we get a ring. And then we set up a scavenger hunt.”

“A scavenger hunt?”

“Are you going to always ask questions?” Ever chuckles.

“Just trying to figure out what is going on.”

“A scavenger hunt where the clues are from places you shared moments with him,” Mckenna clarifies.

“Okay, I’m onboard,” I say. I actually like this idea.

“And then the last one will be the bar. We will decorate it with candles and roses,” Ariel chimes in.

“What about Beau?” Would my brother really shut down the bar for one day? Yes, he would.

“Already talked to him. He said just to tell him the day. We take a few days to gather supplies and then we make it happen,” Ariel replies. That answers my question.

“We can cook his favorite meal and have it ready here where you will dine by candlelight,” Alexa adds.

This is by far the most romantic thing I’ve heard of and I’m doing it.

“I can take off tomorrow and go to Atlanta to get a ring.” It needs to be special and I want him to know the meaning. I also have another thing to tell him, but I’m not telling the girls about it. This is all me.

“Great, we’ll pick you up,” Ever spins off the stool and waves as she and the others leave.

I never had people care about me in the past. I never had a best friend. I can honestly say I now have friends, good ones. And I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

“I’m proud of you,” Beau says from behind me.

“What?”

“You’ve finally found your old self,” he says before turning on his heel and walking back to his office.

I’m excited for this. I can’t wait to see Lincoln’s face.
