“This is where she married Memphis. I came here that day to try and get her back. And you know the rest.”

“Did you know she really wanted to go with you that day?” Memphis steps out.

“No, why didn’t she?” I get out of the truck even though these memories are not my fondest.

“She didn’t want to hurt you. She felt like she couldn’t give you what you needed.”

“That’s wrong, she was my everything,” I say.

“And you were hers. She just felt that she wasn’t who you needed at that time,” he says as he clasps my shoulder. The memories of that day almost bring me to my knees, considering the man at the center of it is talking to me.

“But now?” I can’t think straight. I don’t want to remember that day.

“She loves you. I think it’s time for both of you to finally get your happily ever after,” Ever says as Brick steps outside. I know he has a card.

“You and Ariel tie the knot?” I chuckle and Memphis snorts.

He laughs, “Not yet.” I hope there is a wedding in the future for them. They are another perfect couple.

“Things won’t always be perfect, but if she’s right for you, they will be your own kind of perfect.” Ariel takes Brick’s hand.

“And you will find out what works and doesn’t as you go,” Shane steps out of the church with Ivy.

“But you wouldn’t be here if she didn’t love you,” Ivy clarifies.

“And I think you would make the best brother-in-law,” Beau says as he comes out.

The whole town show up?

“Not really, just some, but that’s how we do it here in Hickory,” Sal steps out from the gate.

“I don’t know what to say,” I say. This is too much.

“That’s the last card,” Ever says softly. Moving me closer to Memphis.

“Time to figure out your future,” Memphis says as he holds the card out again.

I grab the card out of his hand and thank him.

I plug in the coordinates and we end up at the bar.

“I told her I loved her here,” I tell Ever. I see Memphis and everyone else in the parking lot. Have they all been following? They must have since most of them were at the church.

“Ever?” Why is everyone here?

“We’re not going in, not yet. We’ll be right out here waiting. Just go inside, take the chance.” She pushes me toward the door.

I push the door open and step inside to something out of a romance novel, candles and flowers everywhere.

“Skye?” I call out, not seeing anyone.

She steps out from behind the pillar and takes my breath away. She’s wearing a white dress and she looks radiant in it. I can’t take my eyes off her.

“Hi,” she waves nervously.

“I’ve never had anyone go to the lengths you have just to get me alone,” I chuckle.

“I wanted to show you that I always remembered the things you did for me, the lengths you went to, to make me happy. All these places meant something to me just as you do,” she says.
