“We’re going to have a good life together,” I murmur out loud. I will make sure of it. I will make sure he feels loved every day.
As I know he will make sure I feel loved as well.
I sleep on the bed, surrounded by him. I feel arms around me sometime during the night, but when I wake up, there is no one with me. I must have imagined it.
I head to the house and shower. I’m starting to get nervous about tomorrow.
“Good morning.” Ivy hands me a cup of coffee as Shane, I mean, Dad cooks eggs and bacon.
“You excited?” Ivy smiles.
“I’m nervous.”
“Shane, you’re going to love her dress.” She smiles, but it’s almost evil. She’s baiting him.
“I will see it tomorrow,” he says, not taking the bait. “I’m sure I’ll love it.”
“I’m sure you will.” Ivy winks. I think she wants him to have a heart attack. They have such a cute relationship. I giggle as they go back and forth.
“Morning,” Memphis grumbles.
“What’s wrong with you?” Dad laughs.
“Your daughter and my credit card,” he murmurs.
“Oh shit,” I gasp. “My dress?”
He stops taking a sip of coffee and realizes what the charges were for. “Worth every penny.”
“You’re not mad at Ever?”
“Not about the dress, just about the fact she bought two new horses,” he snarls.
“She loves animals.” I nod.
“She does. We have to keep them at the house you’re filming at today.”
“Well, I can check them out while I’m there,” I offer.
“Thanks.”
Buddy, Linc’s dog, comes running through the house.
“Hey,” Skye yells at him. He comes and sits by me, and I hug him tight.
“Sorry,” she apologizes, “he was excited when we pulled up.”
“He practically lives here anyway.” Shane pats his head.
I hadn’t heard from the shelter yet to see if I could adopt the dog I saved. If he was adopted, I hope he found a good home.
Everyone cycles through since there is enough food for an army.
I’m on pins and needles by the time Memphis loads up my bag and takes me to where we will be filming tomorrow.
“Thank you,” I tell him.
“For what?”
