“I love you,” he replies.
“Yes, I’ll marry you.” I launch myself into his arms while everyone cheers.
“I have a few more surprises for you,” he whispers in my ear as someone yells ‘cut’.
“You do?”
“Come with me.” He takes my hand, fist-bumping the guys as he walks by. Ever and the girls just smile.
He leads me inside the house, and there are roses everywhere.
“You told everyone what you wanted in your dream house. I took those bits and pieces. I bribed some of them to give it up. It will require me getting my ass beat, but you’re worth it.”
“You built this?”
“With you in mind. Did I get it right?”
“You did.” He did this for me.
“Did you see Dwight?”
“Yes, I checked on him for Ever.”
“He’s yours.”
“What?”
“I bought him and his girlfriend for you. We can have a whole zoo if that will make you happy.” He turns, and I can see tears in his eyes.
“Our possibilities are endless.” I stand on my tiptoes to kiss him. And then it dawns on me—the necklace.
“You bought this for me.” I finger the diamond strands.
“I told you, you deserve to be spoiled.”
“Let’s change.” We walk up to the master bedroom, the one I slept in last night.
“This is all beautiful,” I tell him.
“I want you to be happy and feel loved.”
“Is this why you were at my dad’s the other day?”
“I asked your dad, Austin, and Sal for your hand.”
“So chivalrous.” I chuckle.
“I have to say, they might not be as big as me, but your family can be scary.” I laugh as he says that.
“My dad punched Memphis.”
“He did?”
“I’m sure Memphis will tell you the story one day.”
“I’ll save it for the future, when I need something from him.” He grins.
I watch as he pulls off his shirt, and I lick my lips. He’s beautiful, ripped.
