“I’m fucking this all up,” I admit.

“You are, but see, that’s why we’re friends. That’s why all of us are here. Other than those three douchebags, we’re going to help you win the girl.”

“What if I’m not ready?”

“You’ll get there.”

“It hurts,” I whisper.

“Love does. But you’ll get there.” He pats my leg, hissing because of his rib.

“You sure you’re okay?”

“No, fucker, you broke my nose and rib.” He laughs and then gasps.

“Fuck you,” I snicker.

“I’m glad we could work this out.”

“Me too.” I motion for someone to help me with Easton. London and Axel help him to the porch, then they check us out. I close my eyes when I feel small hands on my face, probing the cut.

I open my eyes and stare into Timber’s.

“What are you doing?”

“No one here has medical training.”

“But you work on animals,” I reply.

“Yeah, well, sometimes it’s the same thing.” She smiles slightly.

“Oh shit, she called you both animals.” Kash claps his hands like a kid as the others laugh.

“It doesn’t need stitches.” She puts some salve on it and the butterfly sutures to hold it together.

“Thank you.” I squeeze her hand.

She moves to Easton and checks his nose, and then motions for Silas to reset it.

She looks away, then checks to make sure it’s right and puts a bandage on it. She then looks at his eye and has the guys wrap his ribs.

“Best nurse ever,” he coughs, trying to make me smile. He does.

“Now that you all feel better, I’m going back to bed.” Timber waves at the others and heads inside.

“You need her,” Nash says, and I nod.

“Let me just say this, Dayton. She’s a sweet girl, so before you go all in, you need to make sure your head is in it. Because if you hurt her, I will hurt you.” Memphis glares at me. He could hurt me worse than I did Easton.

“Calm down, crazy guy, he’s in it,” Ever says as she pats his shoulder and kisses his cheek.

He relaxes.

I voice what I’ve been mulling over for a while. “I’m in it.”

And I mean it.
