“You deserve happiness,” she says.

“You do as well,” I reply, seeing the sadness in her eyes.

“Snow, what’s in your future?”

“I don’t know.” She shakes her head, lost in her thoughts.

“I hope he’s out there.” I hug her and watch her walk off in the other direction.

I feel sad for her. I hope she does find herself and love.

I shower when I get home and pull on some jeans and a shirt. I find Easton sitting in my brother’s living room.

“What?” I bark, not meaning to. We might be talking, but that doesn’t mean I’m over it.

“Thought we could talk.” He looks serious.

“About?” I flop down on the armchair and wait to see what he has to say.

“I’m not your favorite person right now,” he starts, and I begin to laugh.

“No, you’re not.” Then I stop, because I can’t be mad at him. Snow and I weren’t together. She had a right to be with whoever she wanted.

“Easton, I can’t do this.”

“Not by yourself.”

“We might be talking about two different things.”

“I didn’t hurt Snow, and I never talked about you to the media. They used sound bites to make it seem like I did. I considered you a friend, and if you ask her, I tried to get her to talk to you. But her heart wasn’t in it. Just like now, yours isn’t with her. It’s with Timber.”

“Are you a mind reader now?”

He chuckles. “No, just good at reading people. Already told you this.”

“I swear, you and Sal are related,” I mutter, and he laughs.

We both sit in silence for a bit.

“Why are you here?”

“Because you can’t do it alone.”

“What about the show?”

“Oh, you missed it. Timber essentially told Sal how the end was going to go,” he replies, but I feel like he’s leaving something out.

“Is the finale soon?”

He grins. “In a couple days, and that’s where my idea takes place.”

“What?”

“To get your girl back,” he says.

“At the finale?” I’m trying to catch up.

“Yes.”
