“Take me back,” that’s Plum’s voice.
“Wait,” I start to say, setting Kennedy aside. By the time I’m to the door, they’re gone.
“You did this on purpose,” I yell, turning to face the girl who cowers back. She should be afraid of me.
“I didn’t do anything,” she whispers.
I call Ziggy to come get the new girl as I stomp off to my bike. I hardly even put the kickstand down and have a fist to my face.
“Fuck.”
“You fucked up,” Diablo hisses at me.
“It wasn’t what it looked like,” I protest.
“As every asshole says when they’ve been caught,” Diablo says.
“Where is she?”
“Gone.”
“Gone?”
“She decided to take some time to herself. Capone drove her and Gage somewhere.”
“Where did she go?”
“I don’t know.” I don’t know if he’s lying or not, but I’m not one to question him—right now. Maybe after everyone has cooled off.
Fuck. I’ve ruined everything.
“Yeah, you did. We are going to miss her. I was falling for her,” Diablo admits.
“Maybe it’s good that she left,” I say with no emotion, my heart has a void in it.
“You don’t mean that,” he states.
“Maybe I do,” I say right as Ziggy pulls up, new girl in tow.
“Guess I found someone new,” I say, signaling the new girl over.
“You’re an ass.”
“Yeah, I am. Plum would have figured it out.” All of this tastes like ash as it comes out of my mouth. But maybe it is for the best. I have to save some girls and get a bitch. Can’t do that if I’m worried about Plum.
Diablo says nothing as he walks away, Ziggy shakes his head at me.
“You suck dick?” She nods.
“Get to work,” I growl, pulling her toward the treeline as I watch the girl drop to her knees and untucks my dick and goes to town. Yeah, I’m an ass. For doing this and also seeing Plum’s face as Kennedy works my cock like a lollipop.
I’m an asshole and I will have to grovel once I find her.

Gage and Capone, or Greer as that is his real name, are silent on the drive to Texas. Why do I want to go back to this place? I don’t know, but no one would suspect it. Dad and Lyra know that’s the plan. Lyra wanted to come, but she still is doing out-patient rehab and I want her to finish. Dad stayed because of Sawyer. Someone needs to watch out for him.
