“Fuck,” Zion grumbles.
“Get him cleaned up and find him some clothes while we think about everything we found out.”
“There’s more,” the man says.
“Always is,” I mutter.
“I think we should continue this tomorrow,” Zion says, and everyone disperses to get some shut eye.
“Plum, I’m Dominic,” he introduces himself.
“Wait,” Zion stops. I think we all just realized that there was another Dominic.
“I said there was more. The Dominic passing himself off isn’t me. He’s saying he’s Ricardo’s son but using my identity. He’s neither.”
“What the fuck?” I growl.
“Everyone get some sleep, we will reconvene in the morning.”
“Nice to meet you, Dominic,” Plum takes his arm and leads him inside.
“I don’t know how much more we can take,” I mutter.
“I’m right there with you, but let’s sleep on it,” Diablo agrees.
CHAPTERTWENTY-EIGHT
Plum
In a short amount of time, I was humiliated on television, started a divorce, kidnapped and beaten, kidnapped again, found out my mother is the head of the cartel, and I have a brother. Not sure what else will be thrown at me or what else I can take.
“We have a brother?” Lyra asks me as we walk to breakfast together. After finding Dominic a room, I told the guys I was going to check on Lyra. I fell asleep in her room. I explained what I knew to her this morning as we got ready to start the day.
“His name is Dominic. He is pretty beat up, but that’s because of my boyfriends,” I say.
“I can’t believe you have three,” Lyra snorts.
“If you would have told me this a year ago, I would have laughed in your face.”
She frowns and sighs, “I am really sorry for everything that happened.”
“It’s okay, I get that it wasn’t really you.”
“It was me, just on drugs.”
“Lyra, you’re healthy, happy, and getting help. I’ll take that as a win. You have a lifetime to make it up to me.”
“I promise I will.” I know she means it. Now that our family is in the same place, we’re all much happier. I look back on those times she was filming, and it never seemed like she was happy, though she would tell me she was.
“You’re the best big sister ever,” she says as we enter the kitchen. I’m only a few minutes older than her.
“Morning,” Dominic greets us.
“Lyra, this is Dom, our half-brother,” I introduce them.
“I always wanted a brother,” she states.
“I promise to be the older brother you always needed,” he vows.
