“Oh.” I can’t be mad at Gage for breaking it, he was only trying to help.
“What’s wrong with here?” he asks me.
“Nothing. I just don’t know it, I guess,” I say. From what I saw it was a cute little main street and the people seemed nice.Gage was having fun with those kids.
“What kind of things are you looking into?” He asks as he takes a seat next to me on the patio.
“I need to divorce my husband. I need to get my things from my house and then find a house. I need to get Gage back in school. Probably should sell my house so I need to find a realtor I can work with online since I have no intention of going back. Well shit, guess I’ll work with them in person since I have to go back to clean the house out. I’m a mess.”
“How about you let us show you what Black Bridge has to offer while your car is getting fixed and then you can decide to stay.”
“Why do you want me to stay?”
“We need good blood here, not that anyone is bad, but we have a few bad apples. We like you and Gage,” he shrugs.
“I think you’re a nice man,” I blush.
“Don’t tell anyone that. I have my reputation to keep intact,” he snorts.
“I promise I won’t,” finishing the last of my coffee.
“I know of an attorney. I can have him here in the morning for breakfast and you can talk about the process,” he offers.
“Thank you,” I say. Who knew bikers could be so nice?

After Plum left, I checked on Gage, knowing she would be worried about him. I watch as Ziggy shows him the different components of the bike and Gage’s face lights up. Something tells me that even though his father was in the home, he didn’t make time for his son. That angers me. His mom has done a good job with him, he’s a good kid.
“Ziggy,” I holler to get his attention.
“Yeah, dad,” he says softly when he’s at my side. He only calls me dad when it’s just us.
“It’s getting dark. How about the lesson continues tomorrow?”
“Sure thing. He wants to hang out though.”
“He can go home with you, just have him back by breakfast. Plum will be worried, but I’m going to go tell her,” I tell him.
“Thanks.I like them, dad,” he says, just what I was thinking.
“See if you can get anything out of him about his home life.”
“You think trouble is coming?” he asks me.
“I always think trouble is coming. I like to have our bases covered.Plus, Gage doesn’t seem to care for his father.”
“Yeah, I got that.I’ll see you at breakfast,” he runs off and tells Gage the news.
I turn on my heels and walk towards the bed and breakfast, nodding at Tex who is outside on watch.
“She went to her room a little bit ago. I told her that her car won’t be ready for a few days. I don’t know why I’m trying to get her to stay,” Gator greets me.
“I have a feeling she needs us,” I say.
“I got that, too,” Gator nods.
