To my astonishment, neither Gage nor Greer complain. Before we went into the first store, I messaged a decorator. I sent pictures of the rooms and she met us at the first store, the only furniture store we had to go to.

By the time we left the store, every room had a theme and new furniture. She even told the manager down to the detail where each piece goes. She left me to pick out things like pictures and things like that. Which is why we’re in Target. I love their home department.

Greer pushes me and Gage pushes the cart. When it comes to Gage’s room, I let him pick out what he wanted in furniture and everything else. Greer even bought him a new Xbox. I was going to protest but Greer said he wanted to do it. I picked out a few things to wear, since I will have these casts on for a few more weeks, I picked out joggers and matching tank tops. I did grab some men’s sweatshirts since they’re easy to put on. And a new set of dishes, silverware, and glasses. When these come off, I’ll go back for jeans. I don’t see myself leaving the house anytime soon.

Then we hit the grocery store. My grandfather has four freezers. Three are empty so besides filling the fridge, we buy things we can freeze. We bought enough to feed an army. Last stop on the way home is for a smoker and a grill, Greer got that. The MC likes to grill and he’s hoping some of his brothers will come visit. He explained that he’s more of a nomad, though he is a patched member of the main MC. He can come and go as he pleases, unless he has a job to do. I hope he never leaves but I know he will have to go home soon. He can’t stay with me forever. I also don’t want to come between him and his brothers.

We pull up the drive and there are two riders sitting outside the door, waiting for us. York came. I’m kind of sad that it’s not Zion with him, but Rip is a good man. Gage likes him, they play video games together.

My door is yanked open, and York picks me up to carry me inside, brushing his lips against my cheek.

I settled in and savor the scent of him and soon I’m asleep before he even hits the couch.

“You wore her out,” I whisper as I settle into the couch with her in my arms.

“She did that to herself,” Gage snorts.

“Gage, you and Rip go get the grill and set it up so I can start dinner,” Capone chuckles and both run off to do that. He goes to shut the door when we hear bikes coming up the drive. Rip pushes Gage behind the truck and looks to Capone. He goes for his weapon but relaxes.

“Zion?” I ask him.

“No, Ziggy, Sawyer, and Papa Bear,” he says.

“Where is her room? I’ll go lay her down,” I head in the direction he points and lay her down on a big bed, kissing her forehead before going back to the living room.

“She’s taking a nap,” Capone tells Dixon.

“That’s good, she needs rest.”

“Mind if we camp out for a while?” Ziggy asks as Capone lets them in. Ziggy takes over for Gage and moves the grill out to the deck out back.

“I kind of missed this place,” Dixon looks around at the living room, probably remembering better times growing up here.

“We’re putting all the furniture in the basement for Gage when he gets his own place. She’s keeping the photographs and such on display. she likes the old photos, saying something about vintage,” Capone says.

“She has an eye for fashion, though she doesn’t care for it. She would rather be in jeans and tank tops if she could.”

“Now she can. Lyra didn’t come?” Capone hands them all a beer.

“She’s at the clubhouse with Trick. I just wanted to come check on Plum.”

“And him?” Capone points at Sawyer.

“Something for him to do and Gage is his son,” Dixon points out as Sawyer ruffles Gage’s hair. Rip left them out on the porch, Sawyer knows it’s his job to cook as he’s a prospect and all right now.

“She’ll be okay. We’re calling a doctor on Monday to get her casts looked at, she still has at least three weeks left in them,” Capone starts gathering stuff to make a marinade for the steaks.

Dixon nods. Plum is his favorite. She was her grandfather’s favorite as well. She did inherit all his money and this land. I never actually found out how much she owns, but you can’t see anyone, not even after getting to the road. She has to own a couple hundred acres at least. Her grandfather didn’t drill on his land, but he does have horses and cows and he grew some of his own food. You can see where old crops used to be. I will have to look up how to plant and what to do with the soil. Hopefully I can get something planted for fall.

“We need to go to the feed store,” Sawyer announces as he comes in the back door.

“You know horses?” I ask him in surprise.
