Jones rolls my bike out of the back of the van for me. We all start our engines. I kind of feel sorry for Santorini. He won’t know what hit him.
CHAPTERTWENTY-SIX
Plum
I wake up with a headache and in an unfamiliar bed. At least I’m in a bed. My brain feels foggy but I’m trying to remember what happened.
I was at the doctor… Pike. We left and that’s all I remember. I’m not stupid, though. I know that something bad happened. I think it has to do with my mother since we haven’t seen her since she disappeared.
“You’re awake,” a man’s voice says. I try to focus on his features but my head still hurts and my vision is a little fuzzy still.
“Just a sedative, you’ll be back to normal soon.”
“Whe…where am I?”
“Home,” is all he says.
“Home? I don’t remember buying this bedspread.”
I don’t see it coming, the slap. He slaps me hard, I see stars. I grab my face in hopes that it will make it stop hurting.
“Your new home. If I have to beat you into submission, I will,” he sneers before slamming the door shut. I knew something bad happened to me. I’m in deep shit and not sure what my outcome will be.
I can only hope that the men I am coming to love will find me.

Capone had a feeling, and he was right. A few hours after Plum left for her appointment, he found three men hiding out on the property, watching the activity. They’re in the barn on ice for right now.
I kind of felt it as well. The air felt weird after breakfast. I feel like such a dickhead for not keeping her safe like I promised I would. If she hates me after this, I wouldn’t blame her.
“She’s not going to hate you,” Diablo says, “maybe me.”
“Doubtful,” Ziggy says, and we turn to him from our hiding spots, waiting on a signal from Beck.
"What?"
"She loves you both, and Capone, which is weird since he’s the harshest out of the three of you and the scariest. But for some reason, she loves all of you. She won’t blame you. Plum seems like the kind of person that will blame herself. She did when she found out about Zoe’s husband. She blamed herself for her marriage ending. So, no, she won’t blame you.”
“When did he get so smart?” Diablo chuckles.
“Is he really?” I snort, making Ziggy flip me off.
“Let’s just get through this,” Diablo says right as Beck comes screaming out of the building. We watch in horror as it goes up in flames.
I try to rush to it, but Ziggy holds me back with the help of Stetson.
“What the fuck?” Diablo is on the phone with Jace.
I hear things going on but all I’m thinking is Plum is dead.
“Start talking,” Ziggy hisses at Beck.
“I was made. This was a set up. But I do have another in,” he says.
“Get on that. We need to find her. For now, let’s ride back to the ranch and figure this out,” I say, though I’m dying inside. I have failed her. She was taken again and who knows what’s happening to her.
