“I was, I put in my retirement papers. Or I quit, since I haven’t been in the agency all that long. I need to find a new job.”
“But you were helping people,” I tell him, and he’s taken aback by that.
“I hurt you.”
“Yeah, but in bringing down these men, you brought down a human trafficking ring. They were going to go after other women. My mother helped with that. We need to find her,” I tell him.
“Jace,” Zion yells down the hall.
“I’m already doing a search.”
“I can still help find her, I guess I’m not quitting for now,” Beck sighs.
“You can quit afterwards. I’m sure the guys can use you around here, if you like Texas,” I say.
“I’ll rescind my paperwork and see if one of my techs can also help.”
“Thank you. And I forgive you,” I reach up to touch his eye, knowing one of my guys gave it to him.
“That mountain guy gave it to me,” he chuckles, and I turn to see Zion nod, taking credit.
“What? He hurt you.”
“I’m stronger than I look,” Beck pouts.
“Yeah, you can take a punch,” Zion says as the others chuckle a little. I’m just glad that I’m home.
“Gator, will you cook me some gator now?” I ask the other big man in the room.
“Gage, hug your momma. We have food to cook.”
Gage hugs me so tight, I’m afraid he won’t let go.
“I’ll never leave again,” I tell him.
“I love you, mom,” he says before running outside after Gator and Noah.
“I love you,” I say to no one since my son is gone.
The guys all give me hugs before heading outside to celebrate.
“What about us?” Zion looks nervous.
“You?”
“Yeah, us,” York replies.
“I…I.” I am at a loss for words.
“Little one, we love you. We know this isn’t a conventional relationship, but we know that you belong to us.”
“Belong?”
“It’s a biker’s way of saying you’ll be protected, cherished. It’s like getting married without getting married,” York says.
“I love all of you. Does that make me a slut for loving three men?” I have all these horrible feelings washing over me.
“No, and who gives a shit what others think, you belong to us, and we belong to you.”
