He hugged the folder to his chest.
I walked around him and boarded the plane.
“Caden,” he yelled.
“Nope, Mr. McCoy,” Carlos yelled.
I stopped at the top of the stairs as Carlos pulled a gun on him. “You are coming with us. I have a little business deal to discuss with you.”
I saluted Carlos. He gave me a head nod.
I stepped onto the plane and found Amari curled up in one of the plush recliners.
I sat down next to her. She slid over and rested her head in my lap.
“What was in the envelope?” she asked.
“Just some of your father’s secrets, I gave them back to him.” I ran my hand through her braids, and she shivered.
“You’re not going to tell me?”
“I will, but not now.” I leaned down and kissed the side of her head. “We have more important things to do.”
“Like what?”
I held out my left hand.
She gasped and sat up.
“You found it.” She grabbed my hand.
“You proposing to me?” I grinned. The idea of being Amari’s husband sounded good.
“Well, depends.”
“On what?” She crawled into my lap and I squeezed her ass.
“What would you say?”
“Yes.” I nodded.
She squealed and kissed my face.
“Sir,” the captain interrupted. “Where would you like to go?”
I smiled down at Amari.
She grinned up at me.
“Australia,” we said in unison and laughed.
