“I'm so excited for you, Willow. I know things have been rough, and you really do deserve to meet a good guy.”
“Thank you. Okay, I’m going to go up now. How’s my lipstick? My mascara?”
“Perfect. You look stunning.”
“Thank you.” I take a deep breath and head towards the elevator. “Okay, I'm going up. Wish me luck.”
“I hope you have the best bang of your life,” she says, giggling, and I glare at her.
I laugh as I make my way to the elevator. As the doors open, I step inside. I give her a little wave and then take a couple of deep breaths. Even though I'm excited, I'm still nervous. Really, really nervous.
When the elevator arrives at the floor, I take a couple of steps and head towards the Diamond Suite. I knock on the door, and Sebastian answers it within a couple of seconds. He looks drop-dead gorgeous. He's wearing a pair of dark pants and a white shirt that's unbuttoned so that I can see his golden olive chest.
He looks dark and delicious as he lets me into the room. Then he takes my hand and spins me in a circle. His eyes devour me, and he lets out a low whistle.
“You are the very best thing I've seen today.”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Yes, and I’m so grateful that you’re here, Willow.”
“I’m glad to be here.” My eyes look around the room, and I gasp as I see what appears to be hundreds of pink and red rose petals scattered across the floor and the bed. I try not to let my brain wander to the fact that I'll probably be the one tidying it up in the morning. I’m not going to think about practicalities. I am just going to live in the moment.
“This is beautiful. Really beautiful.” I head towards the bed and pick up the petals and sniff. They're still fragrant. I look over at him as he stares at me. “Are these fresh?” I ask because I feel nervous.
“Yes,” he says. “I had them delivered this afternoon, along with dinner.”
“What?” I stare at him.
“I ordered dinner from the best restaurant in town. Well, Katherine told me it's the best restaurant.”
“She didn’t tell me that.”
“I guess she kept it a secret.”
“I guess she did.” I head over. “Can I see what you got?”
He nods, and I lift the tray. I see a risotto with shrimp. The smell of garlic and fresh herbs hits my nose, and I can feel my mouth watering. I’m hungry, but I don’t want to eat right before sex. I don't want my mouth to taste like garlic.
“I have something for you, as well,” he says, and I gaze at him in surprise. He has a small box in his hands.
“What's this?”
“Just a little something,” he says, handing it to me.
“Do you want me to open it now?”
“If you want,” he says.
“I'll wait till later,” I say quickly.
“Would you be interested in a glass of champagne?”
“Yes, please.” I nod quickly and look around the room. It is beautiful. I’ve never quite seen the Diamond Suite like this. With low light, candles, and romance in the air.
“This is how it was meant to be,” he says as he pops open the champagne and pours the liquid into a flute, handing it to me. I take a sip and moan as the bubbly liquid slides down my throat easily.
“This is delicious.”
