I got up, giving Luca another glance before leaving.
He’d made me lose control, and I never lost control.
Why?
Yeah, Santino had made me furious, but I hadn’t snapped at Luca because of him.
Well, not entirely anyway.
Luca was something else.
I felt a tiny little bit bad for what I’d done. I shouldn’t have shot at him.
He should be terrified of me now, but I didn’t think he was. He certainly hadn’t looked that way when I’d tied him up.
Why? How?
If only I could see inside his head and figure him out.
But I had more important things to worry about. What went on in Luca’s mind didn’t matter.
Taking Santino down was the only thing I needed to think about. I wouldn’t rest until I made that bastard regret every single word he’d said in that pathetic video.
Chapter 6
ISTILL COULDN’T THINKclearly, no matter how much I tried and where I went. But nothing was quite the same as my war room. I supposed I’d gotten used to it too much.
I turned to Rafael after I stopped pacing. “I need you to set up everything in my war room. I can’t do this if I’m not there, and we need to come up with something sooner rather than later.”
“Okay. I’ll tell the men to get you a table, computer, projector, and a map. Anything else?”
I nodded. “A drink. I’ll bring the files myself.”
“Where do you want me to take Luca?”
I’d been avoiding Luca for a few days. He hadn’t done anything in the meantime, but maybe that was because we hadn’t really left him much space to do anything.
