Chapter Eighteen
VICAR CURSED HIS incrediblelust for Trinity when he realized he had gone too close to the flames. Let her down. Because her Múspellsheimr side had broken free.
Even worse? His Múspellsheimr side followed.
“Enough with those two,” he ground out with disgust, ripping away the troublesome stone he’d strapped to her arm until he needed it again. Thrilled to still be inside her, to have her at his mercy, he pinned her throat to the wall and offered a slow dark promising grin. “Now, what to do with you next?”
He’d like to spill his seed inside her a few more times just to irritate her then vanquish half of her, but how to go about that? While he’d initially thought to end her after enjoying her body for daring to usurp him, he found her complacent side a decent enough fit for general living. She would bend to his will in front of his followers then bend to his will even more when chained to the wall.
Not the walls inside either but the one outside where all could watch.
She would enjoy it too. They both would. Because if nothing else, they were a good match in bed. He wouldn’t grow bored too quickly. Not for another day or two, anyway.
Trinity chuckled darkly and thrust her hips a little, daring him. “Only a day or two?” Her brows flew up, and she looked at herself with approval. “Figure the odds.” She snorted. “You’d be my slave in no time. Bending to my every whim until I was done with you.” The corner of her mouth inched up when he predictably swelled inside her. “See what I mean?”
Damn woman. He wanted to rip her heart out and slam into her at the same time.
“Trinity,” Jade roared moments before she and Thorulf burst into the room. Where most might feel bad about intruding, Jade obviously didn’t care when she put her hands on her hips and made an exaggerated gesture between them and outside. “Do you notseewhat’s going on?” She tilted her head and cupped her ear. “Hear?”
Noticeably more intense now that Trinity's Múspellsheimr side had surfaced, the storm raged like a rabid beast. There could be no doubt Violence wanted her. Would do anything to get her. Which didn't faze them in the least because neither seemed particularly inclined to stop what they were doing.
“Speak for yourself.” Trinity offered a low throaty laugh and glanced from him to the intensifying storm. “Why would I wantyouwhen I could havehim?”
“Get her out of here, Vicar,” Thorulf growled. He kept his eyes averted and joined Jade when she started whipping Celtic magic at the storm. Smarter than he typically gave his brother credit for, Thorulf got through to him effectively when he said, “Get her out of here so you’ll be able to use her kind side to your benefit as time goes on.”
Trinity perked her brows. “Kind side?” She licked her lips and shifted her hips just enough to remind him how much he enjoyed this side too. “Now why would you want that bitch back when I can—”
Rather than manifest a blade and slit her throat, he put a hand over her mouth, freed his cock, redressed them with a chant, and narrowed his eyes. “Give me any trouble, and I’ll end you before you take your next breath.”
“I’d love to see you try,”she taunted into his mind, her amused gaze both sultry and mocking.
Keeping her thighs wedged apart so she couldn’t kick him, he strapped the Alfheim stone to her ankle. Before she had a chance to yank it free and retaliate, he unchained her wrists, tossed her over his shoulder, and headed for the door. While she kicked and punched, it wasn’t with as much zest as it might have been without the stone.
After nodding thanks to Jade and Thorulf as they battled Violence’s influence over the godly storm, he strode out of his chamber and down the hall. He might not particularly like the chamber he headed for next, but it was her dragon's best hope of getting her other side resurfaced. Because that’s what it would take. Assistance from her inner beast.
“Which means your nicer half surfacing too,” she reminded in her mocking tone. “And we both know how we feel about him.” She made a sound of disgust. “Weak and pathetic. Emotional rather than strong. He’s no leader at all. Just pitiful...”
