“Sure.” I gave him the peeler.

He stepped up to the counter and finished peeling them before cutting them into small cubes. I watched his fingers work the knife, saw the veins running along his toned arms. I wanted to kiss every inch of him.

“Am I doing it right?” Cason asked, catching me staring at him.

“It’s perfect.”

Pretty much everything about him was.

Chapter 19

Cason

Over dinner, Emery asked about my day. I’d taken that Saturday off to buy my textbooks, and I’d gone to the gym afterward with Ryan.

“How’s he doing?”

“Good,” I answered, after wiping my mouth. Pretty sure I had barbeque everywhere. “Lexi stopped texting him, and he saw on Instagram that she has a new boyfriend. He got kinda mad about her moving on so quick, but then he got a girl’s number from the gym and got over it. I think he made plans with her tonight.”

“He’s still young,” Emery said. “There’s plenty of time to find the right girl. He doesn’t have to settle right now.”

“What about me?” I asked, my stomach fluttering when his blue eyes flashed to my face. “Should I settle so young, or should I keep looking for my Mr. Right?”

I meant it as a playful little taunt, but his face fell.

“I’d never want you to settle,” he said, his expression grim. “I want you to be happy. If you decide you’d be happier without me in your life come August when you go off to college, I’ll understand.”

“That won’t happen.” My throat constricted as I thought of a life without him. “We started as a casual thing, but it’s more than that now. At least for me.”

“It is for me too.” Emery stood and carried our plates to the sink. “But I don’t want to hold you back, Cason. If youdodecide to end things, I won’t stand in your way. I’m sure things will get messy once Ryan finds out, and if you’d rather end it before it gets to that point, I’ll respect your wishes.”

“Can we not talk about it?” The tightness in my throat spread to my chest. “I know it’s, like, inevitable, but I wanna be oblivious for a while.”

I wanted to enjoy the time with Emery where we were happy. Not stress about the future.

Emery nodded and washed off the plates. I got up and helped him clean the kitchen, knowing he wouldn’t be able to relax until it was done. I rinsed out the skillet and cleaned off the counters while he loaded the rest of the dishes and started the dishwasher.

“Can I have my dessert now?” I asked, flashing a toothy grin when he looked at me.

Emery ran a hand through his black hair and approached me, pushing me against the counter. Yep. I was turned on. That’s all it freaking took.

“Go get on the bed,” he said in a low tone, leaning forward to brush his lips along my neck. “And stay there until I’m ready for you.”

“R-ready for me?” Jesus, my heart was banging around in my chest like a drum. Emery took me from zero to a hundred in a second flat—that seductive look in his eyes, the sexy growl of his voice, and the heat of his body on mine.

“No questions.” Emery kissed my throat before pulling away, his blue eyes pinned to me. “Go.”

Excited beyond words, I rushed down the hall and jumped on his bed, jostling the once wrinkle-free comforter and making the pillows bounce. Whatever Emery was planning, I was pumped for it. He always got that sexy look in his eyes when he planned to fuck me good and hard, and my body was ready.

“Should I take off my pants?” I called out.

“No talking,” was his response from the kitchen. “And yes. You better be naked when I get in there.”

I chuckled and unbuttoned my jeans before sliding them down my legs and kicking them into the floor. I then took off my shirt and pulled down my boxers. My cock jutted out a bit, not fully hard but getting there.

And then I lay there, waiting.

A minute passed, maybe two, before I began to bounce my leg a little. Anticipating the dirty and amazing things Emery might do to me, I gripped my cock and gave it a slow stroke. I bit my bottom lip and heavily exhaled as I stroked my shaft.
