I had taken him to the first game a few weeks back, and he’d really enjoyed it. I had enjoyed it too, even if I’d been a little clueless on some things, like what the penalties meant when the refs threw a flag on the field and the point system.

Dad knew all about football, though. Once upon a time, I thought he’d be happier to have a son more like Monty. A son who was into sports, cars, and all that crap. Not one like me who loved books, history documentaries, and going to museums. The most athletic thing I did was go to the gym on occasion.

“We can if you want to,” I answered. “The one last week was an away game, so I didn’t ask you to go. But the one this Friday is a home game.”

“I’d like to go.” Dad took the burgers off the grill and dropped them onto a plate. “Let’s head inside to eat.”

Once inside, we sat at the kitchen table and ate, talking about our jobs and anything new that’d happened to us over the past week. Halfway through the meal, my phone dinged. A message from a certain someone I couldn’t get out of my head.

Monty:I’ve been thinking…

Me:That’s dangerous.

Monty:lol jerk

I smiled as warmth spread through my chest. Why did this feel so… right? I had gotten what I wanted from Monty. So why did I want more?

Me:Don’t keep me hanging. What have you been thinking?

Monty:We should totally hook up again. Hear me out before you say no.

The thought of fucking him again had me shifting in my chair.

Me:Go on.

Monty:One, the sex is fucking amazing. Like really. You made my damn toes curl.

Yeah, that didn’t help the tent I was pitching in my pants. He’d been the best sex I’d ever had. I didn’t know if me hating him played into that or not, but I had never come so hard. So intense.

Monty:Two, we have chemistry. You can’t deny it, so don’t even try, Specks.

Again, he wasn’t wrong.

Monty:And three… it’s convenient.

Me:Convenient?

Monty:Yeah. You like sex. I like sex. So lets just fuck each other when the urge strikes and save some time. Better than having to find randos online.

He had a point. Or maybe I was jumping at any excuse to take him up on his offer. Because damn it all, he wasn’t out of my system at all. I wanted to be in his bed again.

Me:…I’ll think about it.

Monty:If you need me to send nudes to help with your decision, just let me know ;)

“What are you smilin’ at?” Dad asked from across the table.

I glanced up from my phone. “Nothing.”

“A boy?”

I rolled my eyes.

“Itisa boy, isn’t it?” He sipped his beer. “I have some bad news, Quinn.”

“What?”

“You have a nut allergy. So be careful.”
