“So?” I grab his hand, and he lets me take it much to my relief. I link our fingers and stare into his pale blue eyes. “I don’t care if you’re an elf.”
“Half god, half ice nymph,” he corrects me with a slight twitching of his cupid bow lips. “But close.”
“Elf, god, nymph, it doesn’t matter.” I move closer, and his back presses to the trunk of a tree. Against the brown bark and shaded beneath the branches weighed heavily with snow, he looks even paler. Ethereal. Frost streaks through his silver hair, and that close, I see faint designs of snowflakes on areas of his skin. “You’re just Jack to me. I don’t care about anything else.”
“You don’t know me, Luka.”
My brain might not know him well, but my soul sure seems to. When around Jack, it’s like my soul reaches out to him and soothes in ways I never thought possible.
“Give me the chance to learn, then,” I say, placing a hand beside his head on the tree. The other slips around his lean waist. “Because this feeling? I don’t want to lose it. I don’t want to loseyou. For nineteen years, you’ve been a fantasy to me. A dream I held on to.” I touch his jaw. “I remembered your face and the sound of your voice, wishing you were real. Now that I know the truth, I don’t wanna walk away.”
“I often wondered what became of the little light I found in the snow.” Jack’s face softens, and places his hand over mine. “He’s grown into a handsome young man who I can’t stop thinking about no matter how hard I try.”
He feels it too.Damn if it doesn’t make my heart beat just a little faster.
“Can I kiss you again?” I ask, glancing at his mouth and back up to his blue eyes.
“No.” Jack smirks. “Because I’m going to kissyou, silly mortal.”
His mouth slams to mine, and I grunt in surprise. He grips my waist and spins me around to where my back is against the tree, changing places with me. Hard kisses press to my lips before he moves from my mouth and down my neck, groping me through my heavy winter clothes. I stare up at the branches above me and moan as he clamps his teeth down on my pulse point, then licks the area.
“I didn’t know Jack Frost was kinky,” I whisper in a hoarse tone.
Jack chuckles before softly kissing my neck and gliding his nose along my jaw. And then he jumps upward and lands on the lowest hanging branch.
“Hey!” I reach toward him.
He dashes out of my reach. “Too slow, Luka.”
“Where are you going?” I ask, delighted by his playfulness but also slightly annoyed. “I wasn’t done kissing you yet.”
Suddenly, he swings down low, hanging upside down from the branch, and kisses me. I smile against his lips. It’s a total Spiderman kiss, and I fucking love it.
“You have work to do, little light,” he whispers, nuzzling my cheek. Then, he’s gone again. From up high in the tree, I hear him laugh. “As do I. Winter waits for no man!”
I run out from the enclosure of woods and see him jumping from one tree to another as if he’s made of air instead of flesh and bone. Just like in my dream last night, ice shoots from his fingertips. I stare in awe at the whimsical sight and wonder for a second if I’ve indeed lost my mind.
However, no dream can compare to the Jack in front of me. His laughs bounce off the trees and snow as he capers through the winter wind, spinning in the air before shooting out of view.
“What the fuck are you doing to me, Frost?” I whisper. I don’t feel like the same man I was when I woke this morning. My very soul feels changed. Whole.
I go back into the cabin and put more logs on the fire to warm the place up. My body is plenty warm, though, and my lips tingle at the memory of Jack’s kiss.
Jack is both rough and tender, seductive and sweet.
Unpredictable as the north wind.

I lose track of time as I write.
I get that way sometimes when I’m deep into a book. I forget to eat and sleep, and I can go days without talking to anyone. No wonder Colton got so irritated with me. I’m far from the easiest person in the world to be in a relationship with.
Around seven in the evening, my stomach grumbles, reminding me I never ate dinner. After saving my progress, I stand from the desk and groan as I stretch my stiff muscles. My phone dings with a text.
Mom:A snowstorm is supposed to be coming in late tonight. Make sure you stay warm. If you need anything, let me know! It’s only a 2 hour drive.
Me:I’ll be fine. Don’t worry.
