“Probably to discuss the alliance,” I said with a small laugh.

Just to make sure though, I closed my eyes and searched for Alastair’s mind. Our telepathy could reach for miles.“Has Baxter officially agreed to join us?”

“Yes,”Alastair answered seconds later.“He wants us to stay on the island for a few more days. Maybe longer. We need to go over strategy and proper training for his warriors since they’ve never fought demons before. At nightfall, we’ll get our luggage from the hotel and bring it here.”

“Okay.”

“Al just told me we’ll be here for a few more days,” I said. “There are worse places to be than a gorgeous island.”

Plus, it would give me more time with Kyo. The smart thing to do would be to stay far away from him to lessen the blow for when he inevitably left, but I’d never been good at denying myself the things I craved.

And I craved Kyo.

Every part of him.

“What are you doing?” I asked as he stood from the rock.

“It’s kind of hot.” He tugged off his shirt, and my gaze fell to his tattooed chest, then trailed down to the V-muscles that dipped into his jeans. “I’m going swimming. Wanna join me?”

Say no.

“Hell yeah,” I said instead. Like an idiot. The anger and sadness that had weighed me down earlier lifted a little when he was around. Which made no goddamn sense seeing as how he was the reason for me being upset in the first place.

I swallowed hard when he took off his jeans. He smirked at me as his fingers dipped into the waistband of his boxers and pulled them down, exposing his soft cock and muscled upper thighs. My mouth fucking watered.

“I like to swim naked.”

“Of course you do.” Even knowing it was a horrible idea, I unbuttoned my jeans and pushed them down my legs before stepping out of them. My boxers went next, and Kyo’s eyes seemed to darken as he watched me.

He did something unexpected then.

Standing at the edge of the rock, he shut his eyes. There was a trace of a smile on his lips. And then his skin began to shimmer. Change. Blue-green scales appeared, and his fingernails sharpened into short claws. Dark blue horns protruded from his black hair and curved back.

It wasn’t the first time I’d seen him in his dragon hybrid form, but it was as if I were seeing him through new eyes. My heart beat faster, and my soul-deep connection to him stirred inside me, wanting to be closer to him. He still kept a human shape, but everything else changed.

Yet, he was still Kyo. Still beautiful.

Maybe even more so now.

My gaze then drifted down to his cock. It hung thick between his legs—definitely bigger in this form—but resembled a human cock for the most part, with the exception of the blue-green coloring. No scales though.

“You gonna gawk at me all day, Red?” He jumped off the rock, and when he broke the surface on his way back up, his dark hair slung water at me.

I jumped in after him. The water was warm on the surface and slightly cooler around my legs. Perfect for swimming. I lay on my back and stared up at the blue sky, my body floating as if I weighed nothing. The world around me was muffled, though other sounds were enhanced, like Kyo stirring the water as he moved around.

The moment was peaceful until Kyo pounced on my chest, sending me under.

Water went up my nose, and I sputtered as I came back up. “Asshole.”

With a grin in place, Kyo dove beneath the surface, and I watched in amazement as he swam around me. His blue-green scales allowed him to blend in with the water, camouflaging like a chameleon.

“Hey!” I said when he groped my thigh.

When he came back up, mischief gleamed in his eyes. “Oops.”

I lurched at him, and he laughed as I gathered him in my arms. I had meant to body slam him or dunk him, but as the scent of water lilies tickled my nose, I pressed my face against his temple and just held him close to me.

“Castor…”
