“To catch a dragon.”

I heard him laugh as I lifted into the air and flew off. It took me roughly ten minutes to reach the club. I landed in the parking lot outside the warehouse on the outskirts of town, my skin tingling with anticipation. Music thumped from inside as I approached the entrance doors. I nodded to the werewolf working as a bouncer that night and stepped into the booming nightclub scene.

“About time you got here,” Kyo growled, grabbing me by the arm and yanking me close to him. Thin black liner was on his lids, making his orange eyes pop even more.

“I flew all the way here. Boy, are my wings tired.”

A surprised laugh left him. “God, you’re a fucking moron.”

And then his mouth slammed to mine. I rested my hands on his hips and kissed him deeply as people danced around us. He tasted just like I remembered, and my body heated as we pressed together, chests lined and bulges touching.

“I want to be fucked hard,” Kyo said, breaking from the kiss but not moving away. His hot breath tickled my lips. “Think you can do that?”

“Fuck yeah.”

I took him to my private room, where we kissed, groped, and stripped each other naked. When I tried to talk to him, he silenced me with a rough kiss and shoved me onto the bed, making it all too clear he was in no mood to chat. I prepped him with my fingers, and he blossomed beneath my touch, his breathy moans caressing my ears.

Kyo knew exactly what he wanted. He straddled my hips and rode my cock so good I fucking saw stars when I came.

It was just sex. I knew that. But when I was with him, in his arms and smelling him all around me, something stirred deep inside my chest. An unexplainable pull that tethered us together.

Did he feel it too?

“Thanks, Red.” Kyo rolled away from me and got out of bed to find his clothes only minutes after we finished. “That was fun.”

“Leaving already?” I lay on my side, arm tucked beneath my pillow, and watched him put on his boxers. “You can stay.”

“Is that longing in your voice?” Kyo leaned over me, dropping a kiss to my temple. The tender action was unexpected, and it kind of did something strange to my heart. Made it ache. “I guess I can stay for a few more minutes.”

I tugged him back onto the bed, and he laughed. I reveled in the sound. Our lips met as he lay against my side, my arm secured around his waist.

“Don’t get the wrong idea,” Kyo murmured against my mouth between kisses. “This isn’t because I like you or anything.”

“Oh, of course not.” I grazed my teeth along his jaw before gently biting his earlobe. “I’d never think that.”

“Good.”

I pressed my face into his dark hair. He rested his head against mine and held on to me. A lot of men had been in that bed with me before, but Kyo was the only one who’d ever lain in my arms like he was right then.

The only one I had ever wanted to stay.

Chapter Six

Kyo

A tousle of blond hair poked up from behind the counter as I walked into work early that morning. Gray sat on the floor, legs crisscrossed, and peered through a spyglass.

“What’s up?”

He smiled and angled his head, aiming the instrument at me. “Simon found this in one of the new crates. Cool, right? He told me to bring it out here.”

“I don’t think he meant for you to play with it.”

His smile stretched wider, and he lowered the spyglass from his face. “I sailed on a pirate ship once. Used to have one just like this.”

I blinked at him. “You… you were a pirate.”

“Isailedwith pirates.” Gray stood and walked over to place the spyglass on the shelf. “I spent a lot of time in the captain’s cabin.”
