“I can’t decide what’s hotter.” I reached over and played with the ends of his black hair. “This curry or the sight of you. Both are spicy, but, baby, you’re boxers-meltingly hot.”
Kyo snorted a laugh and took hold of the back of my neck, drawing me toward him. “You’re such a goofball.”
“I love you too,” I said before kissing him. Another instance when he said one thing but meant another. My feisty little dragon.
Tatsuya was still staring out the window as I pulled back from Kyo, but the edge of his mouth was curved. “How was Galen’s birthday celebration last night?”
“Good,” I answered.
The bonfire in the woods, the food, and the company had made for an awesome time. Galen’s reaction had been the icing on the cake though. When the balloon popped, I’d thought he was going to rip all of us a new one. But once he realized it was a surprise party, warmth had radiated from him. My brothers and I had all felt it.
I knew it would be the first celebration of many more to come. We finally had our own lives. We weren’t expected to save the world or stop the bad guys. We could live, truly live, for the first time.
After lunch, Tatsuya joined Queen Yuma for a stroll in the garden. He loved all of his wives, but she was his first. Although he had never admitted it out loud, I believed Yuma was the one who truly owned his heart, whereas the others only held a piece of it. The way he looked at her was different than how he looked at the others.
Kyo and I returned to our room in the palace and took a bath—together, of course.
“I could kiss you for forever,” I said between short kisses. I gently pushed him against the back of the tub, deepening the kiss as I slid between his legs. Water sloshed around us with the movement, but the large tub prevented any from spilling out.
Moaning, he grazed his fingertips up my spine and found my wing slits. As he dipped them inside, sparks shot through my system. The stimulation caused my already hard cock to ache even more.
“Fuck me,” Kyo panted, lifting his hips to rub our cocks together.
“So this is the answer, huh? No fucking in the cove, but the bathtub is fair game?”
He softly laughed and hooked his leg around my hip. “Guess so.”
“Remember the first time we had sex?” I traced the edges of his tattoo with my fingertips. On the left side was a large wave with the shape of a dragon in the water. It met the blossoms of the cherry tree on the opposite side. “You couldn’t get away from me fast enough afterward.”
“I was in denial,” Kyo whispered. “I didn’t want to want you. And after Tatsuya broke the news about my arranged marriage to Warrin, I never thought I could have you even if Idid.”
“Goddamn Warrin,” I muttered. “He’s lucky he fell in love with Daman. Otherwise, I might’ve had to kill him.” As Kyo chuckled, my heart ached. I didn’t know why. Maybe after a year, it was finally sinking in that this was our lives now. “We’ve come far since then.”
“We have.” He wound his arms around my neck and pulled me down to him. He hid his face against my collarbone. “I fucking love you, Red. More than anything. It’s a love I feel in my core. Painful and addicting. Amazing. The strings of fate led me to you, and I’m never walking away again.”
The backs of my eyes stung. “Keep being nice to me and I’ll start to worry. At least throw in a punch to my gut or something.”
“Oh? Like this?” Kyo lightly tapped the side of my stomach with his fist.
I laughed before capturing his lips. He gripped my sides and lifted his hips again. As we kissed, I rocked forward. Our cocks slid against each other, and I groaned at the delicious friction. He did too.
“Love you,” I murmured against his lips. “So much.”
“I love you most.” Kyo grabbed my head and brought my mouth to his throat. He tilted his neck back. An invitation.
Knowing what he wanted, I ran my teeth over his jugular. Chills formed on his skin. I kissed him there, then kissed him again. He wiggled beneath me and spouted off that I was a tease. I then bit him, cutting off his complaints. He clung to my back, emitting the sweetest moans. I only drank a little before healing the wound.
“Happy?” I nuzzled his jaw.
Kyo flashed a dopey grin. It was too fucking adorable for words. “Not yet.”
“Oh?” I slowly rolled my hips forward. “You need more?”
“So much more.” He yanked me back down for a bruising kiss, and then he flicked my lip ring with his tongue. “Give me all you got, Red.”
This, with him, was my true paradise. Not the extravagant palace we lived in. Not the mouthwatering food, finest drinks, and shiny trinkets. I was the avatar of Greed. I craved riches and couldn’t get enough. But nothing in all the realms could hold a candle to him. There was nothing I treasured more than my dragon.
Kyo was my nirvana. My taste of ecstasy. My home.
