“You are the most vile human being I’ve ever had the displeasure of knowing.”
“Noted. Please be ready and outside your flat by ten. Tardiness is a huge turn off for me.”
“Doesn’t your fucking shift end at eight?”
I flash her a smile.
“Oh, shut up. I saw it on the shift board in the breakroom. Your schedule’s public.”
Sure, it is. “My shift does end at eight, however, I have a personal appointment at eight-thirty.”
Holly frowns. “What appointment?”
“Selling drugs.”
She stares, unimpressed.
I chuckle. “It’spersonal, Hollister.”
“You’ve watched me sleep. You don’t get to have anything personal.”
“Ah, so my stalking negates yours.”
“I’m not stalking you, I’m just asking you a question. Like a normal, sane human being.”
“Why do you want to know?”
“Because I deserve to know what kind of man is going to be kidnapping me later tonight.”
“Charming, intelligent, highly skilled with his hands?”
Her face flames. “More like deranged, narcissistic, and struggling with severe competency issues.”
“Fuck, I love it when you talk dirty.” I lean in and kiss her cheek. “Be on time. I’m serious.” I step out. The door clicks shut behind me. And it’s not until five minutes later that my phone buzzes with a text.
