“Your feelings, unwanted or not, are an added level of protection. You won’t let anything happen to Rina.I trust you not to touch her and focus on getting your own girl.We had a talk and straightened things out.You fucking earn your place or loose the privilege to breathe. It’s that simple,” I state.

“Understood.Thank you.I won’t fail you,” he says with fierce sincerity.

I take my phone out of my pocket and text Arturo. He instantly replies.

“Arturo will be here within the hour.Take a shower and get ready.Have fun tonight and come morning you’re going to focus on your new life.”

“Thank you.I won’t fail you,” he vows again.

“Prove it and I’ll believe it,” I mutter and leave the room.

I head downstairs into my office and grab the whiskey.I don’t even bother to grab a glass. It’s been a dragging day and I need the alcohol to dull some of my senses before I head into my bedroom and face my future wife.My innocent, pure, extraordinary future wife.Whom I want to make mine in every damn way.

After a few drinks I shut my eyes and let sleep claim me for a few hours. When I wake up it’s almost six in the morning.Stretching my limbs, I decide to wake my future wife and see what skills she has.Without a sound, I open the bedroom door but it’s as if she wasn’t sleeping at all when she surges up and aims a gun at my head.

“Nice.”I shoot her a grin and close the door behind me.“Seems I can’t enter any bedroom in my own damn house without having a gun aimed at my face.”

“Don’t be so dramatic. You should be grateful I didn’t shoot first and check who I shot later,” she mutters and places the gun next to her pillow.

“A murderous wife to be.”I start to undress.“I thought women mostly used poison to get rid of their husband.”

I swear she says, “There’s still time since you’re not my husband yet.”Before she slips into the bathroom.

I quickly change into sweatpants, a shirt, and some sneakers. She stalks back into the room and comes to an abrupt stop when she notices my appearance.

“Put on your gym clothes and join me.”The words are a harsh order but there isn’t one outer twitch that indicates she’s offended or angry.

Instead she quickly grabs some clothes, and to my dismay she heads into the bathroom again to change.I’d rather have her stripping in front of me the way she showed me a glimpse of her body like she did yesterday.I guess that’s only reserved for when she’s pissed at me.

The corner of my mouth twitches at the thought.I never was one to enjoy a doormat, and the more time I’m around her the more I think she’s perfect. And she just got here yesterday, so that’s promising, right?

She follows me downstairs and into a large room I transformed into a gym.Every corner gives the opportunity to do different things. One is filled with mats for stretching, the other is where the weights are, the one across from it holds three treadmills and the last one is my favorite, it’s a ring where I like to spar with Leandro and Arturo. Most of our talks and decisions don’t occur in my office, they happen right here.

“What’s your normal routine?Or is it only yoga?”I head for the mats to start stretching.

She follows, loosening her muscles right alongside of me.“Mattia and I work out every day.Yoga, going for a run, weight training, and self-defense.”

“Self-defense,” I echo.“You won’t be working out with Mattia again.”

“What did you do?”she asks with a tone as if I didn’t return to our bedroom yesterday because I was too busy with killing Mattia.

“Relax,” I grunt.“He’s still breathing.I did arrange for him to have different workouts from now on.”And give her an all-knowing smirk.
