“What the fuck, Quinn? That could kill me if it bites me. They are poisonous,” she stammers out, looking up at me, and I shushher, waiting for the teacher to walk out of the room like he normally does after every class for his bathroom break.
“You see, he doesn’t like it when I’m mad,” I taunt. “What he really doesn’t like, though, is little bimbos like you trying to make me feel bad about myself.” I slam my hands down on the desk in front of her and get right in her face. The fear in her eyes does nothing but bring me joy.
Suddenly desks start to fly all over the classroom. Some slamming against the wall, causing the wood to splinter off, and I stand up looking around the room, wondering what the fuck is actually going on? Out of nowhere, like magic,Sadie shows up.Can she teleport too?
Her cute red dress on show and not a wrinkle in sight. She strolls up to me nonchalantly and floats up to the desk, so she’s standing face to face with McKenzie, who is suddenly ghost white and has eyes as big as saucers.
“What were you saying about my bestie?” Sadie asks creepily, cocking her head to one side at an odd angle, making herself look even more scary.
“U-u-umm,” McKenzie stutters, not even able to get a full sentence out.
“Aww, don’t get choked up now. You were such a bad bitch a minute ago, where’s that energy?” I croon, pulling her attention from my doll.
“It talks. What the hell is happening?” She looks between me and Sadie before letting her final stare rest on the porcelain doll that is standing in front of her.
“I’m pretty sure you were calling her fat and some other things, am I right, Kai?” Sadie says as Kai’s shadows start dancing around the desk.
“Mm-hmm. She was definitely saying some hateful things about our girl,” he replies, his shadows wrapping around me with a gentle caress. It’s almost like I can feel the softness in histouch when his shadows touch me, and surprisingly, that helps wash a lot of my worry away, keeping my demons at bay.Mostly at bay anyway.
The urge to kill McKenzie grows at the thought of her blood running through my fingers like everyone else’s has that I have gotten my revenge on. They don’t get to decide how pretty I am or not.
“That’s right, Mi Reina, you are beautiful just the way you are. No need to change anything on that perfect body of yours. You belong to me.”Kai’s words ring through my mind, cutting off all the vile things running through my brain. I’m not sure how he does it, but he calms my demons, even while killing them.
Sadie hops down from the desk and grabs my hand. Looking down at her, she starts to sing.
“The deadly little spider crept out of Sadie’s hair,
Spun a web of torment—and you never spoke again,
Shadows drowned the room, the final light was gone,
Pray you never see him. And if you do… don’t scream.”
Like always, my body moves of its own accord. I watch my tiny spider crawl down into her mouth and start weaving his web, the white silk taking up all the space in her mouth. She tries to take a deep inhale but gags. Reaching down my leg, I grab my knife. Kai seems to be making this web a lot thicker this time. She’s trying to take quick breaths through her nose, but they seem to come out strangled.
Bringing the blade up to her throat, Sadie brings her hands up, and I see the veins in her neck slowly turn to ice.I won’t ever piss her off.Slowly, I drag the blade across her skin, watching as she’s choking on the web in her mouth. Is it just me or does it seem weird that in some fucked up way this looks like plain white cotton candy she’s choking on? Maybe I’m just fucked up.
I’m waiting for Kai to come crawling out of her nose, but to my surprise, he doesn’t. Nope, he had to be different this time. Her eye. He crawls out of her freaking eye, and if I thought the nose was gross, nope, the eye literally gives me chills and semi makes me want to gag. Just a little though.
Me and Sadie share a glance, then I look back at McKenzie, whose body is convulsing from choking at this point. Dragging the blade the rest of the way across, I revel in the feel of her blood soaking my hands. I shouldn’t get off on this kind of thing, but I do.
Chapter 10 - Quinn
I pull out of the school parking lot, burning tires on my way. I didn’t want to be there anyway.Fuck this school and these people.Driving home, the only thing running through my mind is,is my dad home, andhopefully Charlee feels better.I honestly don’t even know what to say to my dad about my mom like…
“Oh hi, Dad, by the way Mom's not here because I helped kill her for Savannah’s revenge. Then I vacuumed her up like nothing and dumped her in the trash. That seemed fitting right? To put the trash with the rest.” That’s not crazy at all, right?
He’s definitely not going to have me committed for that. I roll my eyes and shout into the empty car, but am I ever really alone anymore? Sadie and Kai are always there for me lately, so I guess not. Plus, I know I will always have Charlee, she’s my ride or die best friend.
I drive down Lull Lane and realize that maybe all these people are living lies. Are they the ones who helped my mom and dad hurt Savannah and Tripp? The lies seem to be never-ending around here, or buried so deep no one sees past the fake smilesand money. Pulling up at my house, I park next to the curb and shut the car off.
Getting out, I get this eerie feeling in the pit of my stomach, but pay it no mind as I walk up to my front door. It’s quiet, so either Dad isn’t here crashing out, or maybe he passed out.I’ll find out in just a minute.Sadie grabs my pant leg, stopping me in my tracks. Using whatever magic shit is in her fingertips, she washes all the blood from my hands.Well, that’s handy.
Pushing the door open, I quietly hang my bag up on the hook and look around. Peeking in the kitchen and living room first, I don’t see any sign of him.Hmm, maybe he’s not home. Good. That’s when I hear it, a noise from down the hall. Which is odd considering the guest rooms down there never really get used unless we have family over.
“What is it?” Sadie whispers, causing me to damn near jump out of my skin.
“We never use the guest rooms, so I’m about to see who’s back here,” I reply and start to tiptoe down the dark-colored tile.
