I’m not really sure what’s going on, but as I walk up to her, she starts to violently throw up, Sadie manages to cover her mouth with a sheet of ice. So now she’s just choking on her own vomit.Fucking gross.I walk the last few steps up to her and lean in close enough to whisper.

“Savannah said this is for making her lose everything, especially the baby she was pregnant with that night,” I say as Istab the blade into my mother’s abdomen and twist it. Pulling it out, I back up and look up at her as a lone tear falls down her cheek. Then I do it again, going deeper and dragging the blade down her stomach, feeling as the blood runs over my fingers. Repeatedly I stab and stab, shredding her insides until someone pulls me off.

“Come on, Little Ruin, we can finish the rest,” Kai says, cradling me close to him, and I didn’t even realize I was screaming until he’s shushing me, trying to calm me down.I live with monsters. I was raised by complete monsters who I wish weren't my parents.

“I want to watch while you finish her, she deserves everything she has coming.” I look up at him with pleading eyes and he nods in response. He sits me down in the chair by the table. My mom is trying to talk behind her gag of ice. “Melt it,” is all I say, looking up at Kai, and his grin widens.

He places his hand over her mouth and without burning her, unfortunately,he melts the ice from her mouth. She starts to choke and begins to vomit whatever she was holding in her mouth. Heaving for air, she looks up at me as she starts to speak.

“P-please I-I’m s-sorry. I-I never m-meant to hurt you Q-Quinn. I d-didn’t expect my p-past to catch u-up to me,” My mother coughs out, but I don’t feel bad for her. Not a single ounce of remorse.

“You should be telling Savannah sorry, not me.” I stare at her in disgust.

Kai’s shadows start to turn an orange-ish color, almost like they are on fire, and Sadie starts flicking her wrist, doing the same thing she did to Lee. I watch as ice begins to form over my mother’s body; you can literally see the ice start to make her veins burst inside of her skin. I’m not sure if I want to know how they do it, or just stay oblivious, because the shit is wild and definitely seems otherworldly.

With Sadie, it’s like once she starts, there’s no stopping her. She just goes from calm to psycho real quick. Which is probably why we get along so great. Two crashout best friends, even if she is a doll.Kai doesn’t even have to touch her, I just watch as the body of the woman who birthed me, the one person I thought would love me more than life itself, turns to nothing but ash.

I listen as her screams permeate the air and still don’t feel a single ounce of remorse for her. This was a long time coming. Standing from the chair, I go to the cleaning closet and grab the vacuum. Plugging it in, I turn on the loud thing and suck up the mess from the floor. Dumping it in the trash, where it belongs.Maybe Savannah will get some peace once her demons are slain.

One less monster in my house tonight, anyway.

Chapter 8 - Kai

I’m not really surprised she killed her own mom. Tatum had it coming for all the shit she put Quinn through, and I can’t wait for Jeremy to get what’s coming to him next. He deserves that shit too. Especially after trying to kill Quinn. She belongs to me now.

She’s just brushing it off like nothing happened though, and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not. I watch as she sleeps so peacefully. Whether she's covered in blood or fresh out of the shower, this girl has ruined me for anyone else. Considering the night she’s had, a good night's sleep will do her some good.

“What’s got your gears grinding, demon boy?” Sadie asks, catching me off guard, and I snap my head in her direction.

“You think she’s okay? After the emotional roller coaster of a night she just had?” I question as Sadie runs her hands through Quinn's wet hair, almost like a soothing motion.

“I’m sure she’s just fine. Nothing a little sleep won’t fix,” she cheers with the biggest grin on her face, never taking her eyes off Quinn.

“Well, I'm pretty sure at this point most of Savannah’s revenge list is taken care of. Just got to get Jeremy to her, and I’m ready to hear his screams.” I rub my hands together and my lips pull into a sinister grin, the things I can only imagine she will do to that man.

“Go back to spider form, you're starting to creep me out. Especially with your creepy red eyes.” Sadie looks up at me and rolls her eyes. I cut my eyes in her direction. Shifting back into my deadly spider form as Quinn calls me, I crawl up the bed and into my normal spot in her hair. She calls me creepy, like she’s not a talking doll.

“Goodnight, Little Ruin. Tomorrow is a new day, and hopefully it starts off better than the rest with one monster down,” I whisper, then close my eyes and drift off to sleep too. All hell is about to break loose when her father comes home.

The next morning I’m woken up and thrown from the bed when Quinn jumps up out of bed and runs down the hall, where we hear Jeremy yelling.

“Tatum. TATUM, where the fuck are you?” Jeremy's voice echoes through the house.

“Dad, what’s going on?” Quinn says, entering her parents room, but me and Sadie stay back far enough we can’t be seen.

“Have you seen your mother? She wasn’t home when I got in, and she’s always home this early. She doesn’t go anywhere,” he spits, crossing his arm over his chest and tapping his foot on the floor.

“No, I haven’t seen her since I went to bed last night. I’m about to get ready for school, but I can stay home and help you look for her.” Quinn lets the lie fall from her lips, and it’s so believable, I wonder if she really remembers what happened or not. Her facial expression even looks like she’s concerned.

“Don’t worry about it, you go to school. Whatever. I’ll deal with this shit. Not like you’d be much help anyway,” he replies, looking at her with such disgust it makes me want to burn him alive where he stands. Quinn turns to walk away, so me and Sadie rush back to Quinn’s room before they walk into the hallway.

Quinn walks into her bedroom and slams her door shut. Huffing out, she’s grabbing clothes from her dresser over aggressively, slamming the drawers closed. She walks into her bathroom and says nothing to us as she walks by.

“I’m sure he won’t look in the trashcan. She’s nothing but ashes anyways,” I joke and shrug my shoulders, trying to lighten the energy in the room.

“You get on my nerves sometimes, but you're not wrong,” Sadie giggles beside me. “Let’s hide in her backpack today, though. We’re going to get a good look at what the hell happens to her outside of these walls,” she finishes and walks towards Quinn’s backpack.

“I’m pretty sure you're going to be noticeable, don’t you have doll powers or something? Just take yourself there. Like poof yourself there, I’ll crawl into her backpack.” I slap my hand to my forehead and shake my head. Sometimes I think she forgets she’s a magic doll. She just rolls her little glass eyes at me and huffs out. I love when I’m right.
