My cracks are kind–just stay with me.

Close your eyes, don’t pull the thread…

“HHMMMMPPFFF! MMMMMMHHFFFFF!” Ughh, don’t you just hate it when you are trying to get stuff done while singing and someone comes in and starts to make noises during it? I mean, seriously, have some manners.

I ignore the muffled screams of my father and keep singing while letting the water drip to the floor. My rubber boots are making the water splash around while I loosen the electrical wires from the walls of the basement. Seraphina is looking at me from afar. I need her with me at all times now, when she’s not with me, I feel less strong, more insecure. Corvin always keeps her close to me, too.

Speaking of Corvin, I still don’t know why only I can see him. I asked him about it, but he said he’ll tell me after I’m done with this. So here I am trying to get this all done so I can finally go to him.

Come, my sweet, don’t try to fight,

My arms will hold you tight.

Thread by thread, your path is sewn,

Each stitch a secret you’ve not known.

Aha! Gotcha! The wires are finally loose. I was never good at science, but this was one of those rare things that did get my attention. Lina finally starts to open her eyes and move, and screams through the gag.

“Ah, finally!” I smile, “Do you know why I have brought you guys here?” I ask them, knowing they can’t answer me with the gag in their mouths. Not that I care, there is nothing they can say that would get them to change my mind about this anyway.

“No? Anyone?” A loud AGHHMMPFF comes from Lina, making me laugh out loud.

“Okay, okay! I found Mom's diary.” Lina frowns, and my father turns to her with confusion in his eyes.

“Not her, my real mother!” I roll my eyes, but continue, “Yeah, I know what you did to Savannah, Dad.” My father's and Lina’s eyes both widen. Lina is trembling, while my father just stares at me.

“Oh, and don’t worry, Lina, I know you were just as much involved – you and my mom used to be cheerleaders together and hurt that girl even more.” My teeth are clenched, and I am shaking out of anger; my blood is boiling just thinking about it.

“I always knew how horrible you guys were, because of the way you treated me. But this, you won’t get away with it. Not anymore. You are SICK!” I spit into my father's face, he doesn’t flinch from it but rather stares at the wires in my hand. I look at them too.

“Oh, this? Yeah, this is how you’ll be punished.” I tell him with a smile on my face, waving the cables into the air. They both are screaming and yelling through their gags, making me laugh out loud while grabbing Seraphina, and walking up the stairs ready to throw the cables into the water that has been collecting on the floor, the water is almost knee deep and starts to spill over my rubber boots, giving me the warning I needed to get somewhere safe before throwing them in.

Both their eyes look up at me in horror, and I start to sing my lullaby right before letting go of the cables.

Come, my sweet, don’t try to fight,

My arms will hold you tight.

I hum the fate you cannot flee,

The air fills with screams, their bodies start convulsing, and smoke starts to fill the room. It’s also starting to smell like barbecue in here. How ironic, they act like pigs, and now they'll die like pigs. Breathing in the scent of burned flesh and smoke, I watch the life seep out of them. I watch their tears falling from pain and fear. There’s blood coming out of their noses, eyes, and ears. I wait until they stop shaking, a warm hand touches my shoulder, and I look up to see Corvin standing there. He looks down, smiling at me and holding Seraphina.

“The doll is your key to your happiness. Go to the Dollmaker’s mansion; the location is in the files I gave you. I need you to meet someone there.” I furrow my brows into confusion. What does he mean? Who does he want me to meet?

“Won’t you come with me?” I hate how insecure I sound, but I don’t know what he’s trying to say, and I’m scared he is going to leave me.
