“This is a generalization. People have problems for all different reasons. Just because one omega with small sexual organs gets along fine does not mean another will.”
I nearly huffed. “I don’t think I’m allthatsmall.”
I didn’t feel small. I exercised regularly which meant I had muscle. I wasn’t dainty or waifish. And my dick was just fine, thank you, a good seven inches when hard.
“I didn’t mean that as a generalization about you,” Rhodes said. “Doctors can overlook a lot of things, both physiologically and psychologically. It could be their training, their belief systems, whatever might lead them to make conclusions which might be half-hearted or downright wrong. That’s why Dr. Sedonis sent you to us.”
“You’re the experts here. Or so says the vacation brochure.”
He laughed, which made me smile. “First, if you don’t mind, we need to do our own exams. I’m qualified in sex therapy, but also I trained for three years as an intern in obstetrics. But you can request an examination by anyone qualified in our ranks.”
“No. It’s okay. I’m fine about that. And you can do whatever you need to do to assess me further.” I wasn’t afraid of other omegas touching me. It was alphas who made my sphincter tighten.
“Good. But first, maybe tell me a little bit more. Your first time with an alpha. Going all the way. He knotted you, correct?”
My face bloomed with heat. “Yes.”
“And you didn’t like it?”
I leaned my head back and stared at the wood-beamed ceiling. “That’s an understatement. I hated it. I panicked. I was in the first stages of heat, so shouldn’t I have loved it? He wouldn’t stop and when his knot came it filled me with the worst pain I’d ever had. I yanked away from him so hard I hurt both of us. There was blood. That’s when I saw my first heat doctor. That’s when I started this journey to find out why I—I’m so dysfunctional.”
“Are you attracted to alphas?”
“Yes.” I spoke firmly. “In every way. Except that way.”
“Anal intercourse,” he clarified.
I nodded. “And knotting.”
“Sometimes first times are not the best model for comparison. Have you ever had an alpha knot you after that?”
I shook my head. “I couldn’t. I knew I’d panic and run. Which is the psychological aspect. And it means if I can’t deal with this, I’ll never marry, never have a family.”
“And that’s a lot of pain to deal with, Callum. A lot. And you’re so young.” His eyebrows narrowed.
“A mate, a family—those are things I want. Badly. Or I wouldn’t have come here.“ I took a breath. “I have to tell you, I’m very nervous about this sexual surrogacy thing you all do here.” I picked up my lemonade and stared at it, the cold from the glass bleeding into my palm. “I don’t know. I just don’t know.”
“I understand. There are several ways to handle that. I can be in the room with you at all times to make sure things stop when you wish them to. I can actually hold your hand if you’d like. Or I will leave. It’s all up to you. But now I need to have a look at you. And before we go any further, we will be having more of these talks. So, nothing is going to happen quickly. Not today, that’s for sure. Okay?”
“Okay.” I could actually feel my pulse slow down.
“I read that your heat is scheduled in two to three days. That gives us some time.”
“Will we be having regular sessions like this?” I asked.
“Here on Omega Island, it’s all a session. I’m focused on you. We each take on one patient at a time. You’re it for me. Except for times you ask to be left alone, I’ll be spending my days with you, eating with you, relaxing with you, getting to know you.”
“Oh.” I was getting the whole VIP treatment. “Wow.”
“We’re dedicated in what we do here,” Rhodes said. “That means each patient’s individual therapist is there for him twenty-four-seven. Plus, there are lots of fun things to do. We can swim, picnic, hike. We’ve got tennis courts, an eighteen-hole golf course, and other games set up on the green, like badminton and volleyball. There’s also a fully stocked gym.”
“Itislike a vacation.” I laughed to ease my own tension.
He nodded. “We’ll do our best to help you, Callum. You’re our priority for your stay here. However long it takes.”
“I thought I was here for a week?”
“If we deem you need a longer time, we keep you on. We deal with all the insurance matters. You don’t have to be bothered with any of it.”
