I hid a grin. Of course Griff had a collection of Disney movies.
“What’s your favorite movie?” Kade asked Mary, who went to sit in his lap. She told him all about how awesome Dory was, and I found myself unable to suppress a smile as I watched my family at the table. I’d misspoke myself the day before when I told Kade that he wasmy omega, but the truth was, I wanted him to be.

After lunch, while we were all out playing with the dog—and occasionally the cat— in the backyard, Dean called me on my cell phone. Since it was a bit noisy in the yard, I decided to take the call inside.
“Hey, cuz. What’s up?”
“Hi, just wanted to say I’m sorry for not coming in when I dropped the kids off earlier. I was late for brunch with Griff’s parents.” I could hear the eye-roll in his tone.
“That’s fine. Not like we don’t see enough of each other anyway.”
“Tired of my face already?”
“Nah, man. But it’s cool. Although, you would have saved me some awkwardness if you’d dropped the kids off like a minute or two earlier.”
“Yeah? What happened?”
“They kind of ran in on me and Kade in the kitchen.”
“In the kitchen? Come on, Shane, he’s there for a day and you make it your goal to do it ineveryroom of the house?”
I shrugged. “You know me. I have a weakness for pretty omegas.” And Kade was nothing if not pretty.
“I can’t say I’m not glad to see you dating again, but maybe keep it in your pants around the kids.”
“Like I don’t know that,” I grumbled.
“Actually that’s another reason I’m calling,” Dean admitted.
“What? To tell me not to flash my kids?”
He snorted. “No, not exactly. But uh… Griff saw something on the internet today that I think you should be aware of.”
“Yeah? What’s that?”
“Hang on, I’m sending you a link to your email address.” For a few seconds, he said nothing, then, “all right. Check your email.”
I took the phone away from my ear to do just that. When I clicked the link in the email Dean sent me, I was redirected to some garish blog page that screamed at me in neon colors and glittering gifs. I would have clicked away again immediately if not for the photograph that sat in the middle of the page. Kade and I. Kissing in the airport’s parking lot.
I grimaced.Of coursesomeone had seen. And in this day and age, everyone carried a phone capable of snapping a quick picture. That’s what this was. Some low-res cell phone picture. It was still sharp enough to make out Kade, though.Kissing an unknown man, as the description said. Well, at least they hadn’t tracked us to Oceanport yet. Or had they? I ran a hand back through my hair.
“Shane? You still there?” I heard Dean’s voice from my phone’s speakers.
I held the phone to my ear again. “Yeah, I’m… here. That’s so… I want to strangle whoever took that picture.”
“I get that. But I thought you had to see it, so you know what to look out for. Kade isn’tanyomega, you know. Shit like this was bound to happen.”
“I know.” But I had to admit that I hadn’t given Kade’s celebrity status very much thought. “Actually I don’t care how many pictures of me end up on the net. I only hate that these stalkers feel like they have a right to know everything about Kade’s private life.”
“I’m sure he knows how to deal with it. You should talk to him.”
“I guess you’re right.”
“Okay, then. Talk to you later.”
“Yeah. Thanks for letting me know.” I ended the call and took another look at that horrible internet blog. It had received some comments too.
