"We still need to sanitize myplace."

"I know. We'll take care of that tomorrow." For tonight, I simply wanted to be with him. "Think you can go anotherround?"

Ben laughed. "I almost forgot how insatiable you canbe."

I grinned, remembering how I used to tease Ben about the fact that he had a pretty low libido for an alpha. He claimed I was the odd one. In the end, he always gave me what I wanted, though. "Is that a no?" I asked, innocently running my fingers over the front of hispants.

"You know it's not," he said, pulling me into another kiss. "Whatever you need,Robin."

I knew he meant more than sex when he saidthat.

Honestly? That was the bestpart.

Ben

As it turned out,Cooper was indeed okay. I got the happy news in the morning. And then Robin and I celebrated by spending a few more minutes in bed with each other. He reallywasinsatiable. Not that I minded too much. I knew he liked feeling close to me, and I enjoyed ittoo.

Robin had to leave for work after that, but we met again in the afternoon to scrub my house down. I was not risking Cooper's health again, and Robin seemed eager to help. He loved Coopertoo.

Mopping the floors, I caught myself thinking that we would make a cute little family. Robin, Cooper, the baby, andI.

Speaking of the baby, Robin and I went in for another appointment maybe three weeks after we got back together. Cooper was mostly back to his usual overexcited self by that time, but for the first two or three days after I got him back from the vet, he whined every time I so much as tried to leave his side. Nothing could console him. It broke my heart. So I simply carried him everywhere with me. Robin joked that I was practicing for the baby. I told him Cooperwasmy baby, which made him swoon for some reason. It stopped the teasing in anycase.

The day of the doctor's appointment, though, was the first day I had to leave my dog at home for an extended period of time. At least, I’d been able to talk Robin into getting a doctor in Oceanport, since everybody knew about his pregnancy nowanyway.

Sitting in the waiting room, Robin snickered as I texted on myphone.

"Checking up on yourbaby?"

"Yeah, I am." I'd asked Lorene to watchhim.

Robin gave me akiss.

"What was thatfor?"

"Oh nothing. You were just too cute for me not to kiss you. Cooperokay?"

"Yeah, he seems to be." I put the phoneaway.

Robin was still smiling. "You know, if you worry about our baby half as much as you worry about Cooper, we'll be justfine."

Sighing, I ran a hand back through my hair. "Yeah, maybe you’re right about that." I glanced at Robin’s belly. "We’re gonna find out soon, anyway, won’t we?" He was five months along now, and showing visibly. He was absolutely beautiful. I hadn't completely overcome my anxiety yet, but next month, I had my first appointment with a therapist Lorene had recommended to me. Scheduling it had made me feel kind of silly, but Robin said he was proud of me and that was all that mattered, right? I didn't care what anyone elsethought.

Robin took my hand and squeezed as if he could sense my thoughts. Maybe he could. His intuition could be uncanny at times, but I was glad forit.

After another minute or two, we were called into the examination room. This doctor, Dr. Malloy, was a man I already knew—I'd brought omegas from the shelter here before. He didn't have a great sense of humor, but otherwise, he was a stand-up guy. I could trust him with Robin and thebaby.

Still, I stayed close by Robin's side. This time, when I saw my kid on the ultrasound monitor, he actually looked a little more like a human being. Robin stared at the screen in awe, and so did I. I couldn't helpmyself.

"It’s amazing every time I see it," Robin muttered under hisbreath.

"It's totally is," I agreed, even though I wasn't sure whether he was even listening to me, as transfixed as he was on the screen. I couldn't blame him. I wanted to keep watching it forever too. This was our child growing in Robin'sbelly.

"Would you like to find out the sex?" The doctor asked in a kindvoice.

I glanced at Robin, who was nodding. "Yes, please. Unless, do you want to wait,Ben?"
