“Wow,” Ethan said. “I was right. You do look stunning in that.”
A smile found its way to my face—and maybe even a blush. “You picked it well.”
Maybe we were going to be done here a lot faster than I expected.
Or so I thought until it was Ethan’s turn to try on suits. He went into the changing room with nearly ten different suits—and he didn’t like any of them. I tried not to get impatient, but honestly, it was hard.
Whenever he let me take a peek, I thought he looked fine. Better than fine, really. All of the suits were nice, and I enjoyed seeing him in them.
Iverymuch enjoyed seeing him in them.
Was there anything hotter than an alpha in a suit, really?
But he was never satisfied.
“I thought the light blue suit was nice,” I said while he was trying on yet another suit. “It would have to be taken in a little, but still.” I liked the way his behind looked in it when he turned, and I was getting tired of this—and so was Henry. The little one was starting to fuss in my arms, and I couldn’t blame him. I wanted to get home too. Under different circumstances, I might have been happy staring at Ethan in suits all day, but honestly? It was difficult when I knew there wasn't anything I coulddoabout the sparks of desire running through me. The kids would be on us as soon as we walked into the house. Caleb was going through a super-hero phase right now, running through the house in a cape and pretending like Ethan and I were super-villains.
Especially when he wasn't getting cookies before dinner.
Besides, my doctor had said to give it a rest for the first six weeks after birth anyway.
So far, that hadn't been a problem, but when I had to check Ethan out in all those suits? Damn.
“Okay, let me know what you think about this one,” Ethan said, emerging from the changing room in a deep blue suit that accentuated the lines of his body perfectly. I had to force myself not to drool at the sight of him, especially knowing what wasunderthose clothes. Ethan grinned. “The expression on your face tells me all I needed to know. I'm taking it.”
I blinked. Was I that obvious?
Ethan only laughed. “Yeah, this suit definitely does the job.”
I shook my head at him. He'd tried on nearly twenty suits just to find one that would make me drool?
He was impossible.

The day of the double wedding, the sun stood high in the sky, but the weather wasn't completely perfect—just the way nothing ever really was, aside from my baby. There was a strong wind coming up from the sea that was doing its best to blow people's hats away as we posed for family pictures in front of the lighthouse. It succeeded too, with my father's hat. My parents had come all the way out here to attend Nick's and Shane's weddings, and now my father was cursing, running after his black top hat as it was being carried away by a stiff breeze. Running and barking alongside him was Max, Conner's dog. He seemed think this was a new, particularly fun game.
“Okay, let's wrap this up,” Griffin said, looking for the top of his camera. “I think I got enough good shots of everyone.”
Glad that I could stop stretching my lips for a while, I returned to Ethan, who'd been waiting for me just a few feet away, wearing that expensive suit he'd picked out for the day and glancing at his watch every so often.
“I told the happy couples that there would be strong winds,” he said, watching my dad. “Guess they didn't pass the memo on to their guests. But really, it's to be expected with a lighthouse wedding.”
“True. I still think the lighthouse was a good idea, though.” The silhouette of the lighthouse against the sea made for a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony, set to take place under a large white tent at its base. “I like what it symbolizes.”
“What, the lighthouse?”
“Yeah. It lets you know where the shore is on dark nights out at sea, keeping you safe. I think a relationship should be like that.” I leaned back into Ethan and he closed his arms around me from behind. “This is a good place for the wedding.”
“Yeah, I think so too. It's one of my favorite venues. This one and that little chapel in the mountains, they're tied for number one.” Ethan glanced at his watch again.
“Are you waiting for something?” I asked.
“Just checking the time, but...” He looked up. “I think our special guest has arrived.”
“Our special guest?”
