Talon wanted to protest, but that moment, his phone lit up with a text from Collin.
Here's the groceries I want: bananas, apples, cooking oil, eggs (going to need a pan!), bacon, pizza (pepperoni!), chocolate, bread, lettuce, ham, mayonnaise... Also, there is no toilet paper. How can you not have toilet paper??? Don't forget the condoms.
A second text arrived. "I'll also need some stuff for my hair. Buy THESE things, not stuff that's cheaper or whatever. Remember, you owe me diamonds." What followed were several links to images of shampoo, conditioner and other hair products.
"What are you reading?" Aldrich asked.
"Just getting confirmation that you're right. He does have me wrapped around his finger." He couldn’t help it; he was oddly fascinated with the Collin.
Aldrich imitated a whipping sound.
Talon hid a smile.
Chapter Sixteen
The sun was about to rise by the time Talon came back home that night. I'd munched my way through the donuts and the gummy bears hours ago and was ridiculously excited to see him carrying two bags with groceries that he set down on the kitchen counter.
"Thanks! I'm starving!" I intended to give him a quick kiss and then dig right into the groceries, but Talon cupped my chin and stopped me from pulling away entirely. "What's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing, I hope." His eyes searched my face. Was he looking for signs of illness?
"No worries, I'm okay." I rested my hand on top of his. "Thanks for asking." We'd come a long way, hadn't we? From him trying to cut me out to buying me groceries and making sure I wasn't sick anymore. I gave him another kiss, nearly forgetting about the groceries until my stomach rumbled.
Right, I needed food, even if my dick wanted something else. Somewhat reluctantly, I let go of Talon to look at what he'd brought me.
Of course, the first thing my eyes fell on were the bananas.
Get over it, Collin,I told myself.Food first.
I unpacked the first bag. There were eggs and bacon and even pancake mix but no pan. "Where's the pan?"
"I forgot. I'll make another trip for it."
"Nah, don't. It'll light up soon. You can get it another time."
"I don't know if I got the right shampoo either. The lighting in grocery stores is painful."
"I'm sorry. I hadn't thought about that." After unearthing a few more items from the bags, I found the hair products. Not the brand I'd asked for, but it was going to work for now. For tonight I was just happy that Talon had remembered the toilet paper. I didn't want to be forced to take a shower every time I had to go number two. "Condoms?" I asked, turning to Talon while slowly unpeeling one of the bananas.
Talon produced a small box from his pocket.
"How many are in there? You think it's going to be enough?"
Talon glanced at the box, then at me. "It's been a while since I've had to use these, but you only need one per round, right?"
"Right." I stepped up to Talon and took the condoms from him. "But after that shit you pulled erasing my memory of our first time together, you'd better give me a night I won't forget. So do you think that," I read the box, "three condoms is going to be enough?"
"I could go out and buy more."
I took a bite of my banana and then put it aside on the counter to grab Talon's wrist instead. I pulled him toward me. "Or you could make each of these count."
The vampire gave me a smile. "I think I prefer that second option."
"Feeling confident?"
"Let me show you."
"Show me what happened the night we first had sex."
