"Wards?"
"The place is warded," Aldrich explained.
"And with good reason," Puck added. He rubbed his chin between his thumb and index finger. "I'm sure Collin will already have contacted WAFFER so their doctor can take a look at Luke, but I have my doubts that he'll ask for any more vampires to be added to their house's guest list."
"Who's Collin?" Crimson asked, trying not to let his mounting frustration seep into his tone.
"One of Luke's brothers," Aldrich supplied.
"How many siblings does Luke have?"
"Uh..." Aldrich thought for a moment. "Too many?"
Crimson found himself agreeing with that easily. Any person standing between him and Luke was one person too many. "What do I have to do to get him to let me in?"
"Don't worry about it too much. Hang on a second," Aldrich said, taking his wallet out of his pocket and rummaging through it. “Take this.” He fished a small thing out of his wallet and pressed it into Crimson’s hand. A SIM-card. Crimson stared at it for a long moment before realizing what Aldrich wanted him to do. Change his SIM so Nicolai couldn’t track him that way.
Living on the run was going to take some getting used to.
“Cheer up.” Aldrich said. "I'm sure you’ll be reunited with Luke soon enough. The nerdling will ask for you once he's up and Collin won't be able to say no."
Crimson huffed. He wanted to be with Lukenow. He didn’t want to wait until he woke up.
What if he never woke up?
