Let my mind run with all the plans it wanted to make involving those panties.
And then follow through on each and every one of them.
But we had someplace to be.
Thank God.
“We need to go.” I pulled open the door and followed her out into the garage, helping her into my car before getting in and heading to the address my uncle listed.
“Do you think he was meeting someone there?” Julia fidgeted, spinning the bracelet around her wrist as one foot tapped against the floorboard.
“I hope we find out.”
“Maybe it’s a date.”
“You think Vito was meeting a woman here?”
Julia shrugged. “Maybe.”
“If that’s it then we’re back to square one.” I risked a glance her way. “And then you’re stuck with me indefinitely.”
The comment hung in the air and I hung along with it, waiting.
Longing.
Needing something. Something from her. Something I couldn’t make myself name.
Couldn’t make myself consider.
“Would I also be stuck with your bed?”
I knew what she meant. Knew that she was trying to lighten the sudden weight of the air in the car.
But for some reason I couldn’t let it happen. “You’ve never been in my bed, Julia.”
Her eyes slowly came my way, holding for a second before she spoke. “Whose fault is that, Grant?”
It was hers.
She could have been like every other woman I tried to convince myself to want. Talked myself into chasing.
But she wasn’t.
It was a fact I could dwell on forever.
Just not now.
Because now Julia was about to find out I wasn’t exactly what she thought I was.
I parked the car and stepped out, passing the valet a tip as I circled the rear on my way to get Julia. I opened her door, holding out my hand.
Her eyes dipped to my palm before slowly dragging up my body to my face, holding my gaze as her leg stretched free.
It was a temptation I couldn’t resist.
I watched, holding my breath as she moved, refusing to blink.
All for a fucking peek of her panties.
