Multiple times.

He turned me down every one of them. Any normal woman would take that to mean he just wasn’t that into me.

But he kept coming back.

Kept showing up to help me.

Take care of me.

Protect me.

Andrew raked one hand through his auburn hair. “It’s complicated.”

“Are you sure?” I hugged the bag of food on my lap. “Or are you just making it complicated?”

I shoved my door open and stepped out of the Jeep. I needed a little space.

I needed some air.

I needed—

I finally noticed where we were. “We’re at the garden.”

Andrew slowly stepped in at my side, reaching out to gently take the bag of food from my hands. “This is where I was going to take you before Julia told me about the reservation at The Sweet Side.”

I stared at the place I’d spent so many hours of my life.

Most people would hate being brought back to where they worked after clocking out for the day.

Not me.

“This is where I thought we were coming.”

Andrew lifted a brow. “You wore a dress like that thinking I was bringing you here?”

I shrugged one shoulder. “I was planning to seduce you.”

I might as well be completely honest with him at this point. There was no reason to hold back. Not when it was clear there was something significant blocking any chance I had with Andrew.

He huffed out a breath. “You are the most impatient woman I’ve ever met.”

“Impatient?” I stomped one of my heels against the blacktop. “I’ve waited years for you to notice me.”

“I’ve got bad news for you then.” Andrew took one long step, bringing his wide body almost against mine. “Because there wasn’t a single day that I didn’t notice you, Pickles.”

I should have been thrilled with the revelation.

Instead I was pissed.

Aggravated beyond belief.

“Hmph.” I dragged the sound out, shooting him my best scowl before stomping toward the entrance, mumbling as I went.

Maybe ranted was a better descriptor for the string of words coming under my breath as I stormed across the lot.

“There wasn’t a single day that I didn’t notice you.” I huffed out a breath. “And he wants to know why I was planning to seduce him.”

If I waited for Andrew to seduce me then I’d be dead before we had P in the V sex.
