The man was actually looking at my injury and not the boob it was attached to.
Which was hilariously depressing.
Or maybe he was right.
Maybe I was delirious.
I pressed one hand over my mouth, trying to contain the snortle coming out as I attempted not to laugh.
His gaze was stern when it lifted to mine.
And stern Andrew was even hotter than normal Andrew, which was a bad, bad thing for me right now.
My nipples immediately started to tighten. “Ow.” I grabbed the splintered sister with one hand and swatted at Andrew with the other. “Stop looking at me like that.”
“Like what?” He seemed genuinely confused and a little exasperated.
“Like you’re going to spank me if I don’t hold still.”
He opened his mouth to say something then clamped it shut again.
Another open and shut.
One more for good measure.
“Hmph.”
That was all he said while continuing to stare at me.
Finally he barely shook his head before going back to inspecting my boob. “I think you’re right.” His head tipped to one side. “I think something got stuck under your skin.”
I yanked my shirt back down.
Andrew’s shirt.
“Let’s just leave it alone.”
“It’ll get infected.”
“I’m sure it will be fine.” I sucked in a breath as the fabric of the shirt dragged across the spot that was already swelling around the speck of that damn tree embedded in my poor innocent nipple.
She’d never done anything to anyone.
“It’s already not fine.” Andrew straightened. “It’s gotta come out.” He walked away, leaving me standing alone in his kitchen, feeling a little sick to my stomach.
The thought of someone digging around my boob trying to mine out a splinter was awful enough.
The thought of Andrew being the one to do it was category five awful.
“Are you coming?”
His voice made me jump as it carried in from the hall. “No thank you.”
Andrew came back to the doorway to give me that same stern look as before.
I gingerly covered my boobs with my hands, hoping to ward off any reaction they might try to have. “Stop it.”
“I’ll stop when you stop.” His expression softened just a little. “Come on. I’m a professional.”
