Amaros nodded and the knights headed for the weapons.Zoe and Grace concentrated on grabbing clothing. The men foraged for fishing rods and other hunting gear as well. They loaded all three vehicles and returned home to unpack them. After four trips to town, they’d pilfered the weapons and emptied every clothing store.Grace had suggested they take kids’ clothing and shoes as well. The cambions were bound to get pregnant at some stage.

“That should be enough,” Amaros said in satisfaction.“I’m glad we have so many rooms to store everything in.”

“Me, too,” Zoe agreed.“We’ve got our own clothing and shoe store in here,” she joked.

“Not to mention an armory,” Camriel said. They’d chosen to use one of the larger rooms on the left side of the main wing to house their weapons. Two rooms over from the front entrance, it contained the firearms, bows, knives, ammo and every other type of weapon and equipment they’d collected. The clothes were stored in two rooms on the other side of the main area.

“Let’s just hope we won’t need more,” Grace said.“I wonder what sort of style Cam’s mate goes for?”

Zoe felt a vision coming on and reached for Amaros. His arm curled around her waist to brace her.“Wow, she’s really pretty,” she said when she saw Camriel’s cambion.“It looks like she’s into Lycra workout gear,” she reported.

“I told you she’s gorgeous,” Cam said proudly.“Is your vision from the future, or the past?”

“I’m not sure,” she said.

“Did she look thin?”he asked and gestured at his cheeks.“She had hollows when I saw her.”

“She looked healthy and really, reallymuscular,” Zoe said.“She’s twice your size,” she said to Grace.

“Good, then she won’t ask to borrow any of my clothes,” the kid said with a smirk.

“What else did you see in your vision?”Amaros asked.“Where was she?”

“She was sitting on a couch in a swanky looking apartment,” she replied.“It has to be the past, so I guess she’s lost what little bodyfat she had,” she added.

“I’m glad we hunted that doe,” Camriel said grimly.“My mate will need fresh meat to help her rebuild her health.”

“She must be pushing herself to have gotten so skinny,” Grace figured.“We usually bounce back from injuries quickly and we don’t get sick.”

“It’s a long way here from Manhattan,” Amaros said.“Traveling that far on foot would be enough to wear anyone down.”

Thunder cracked, announcing the storm had finally arrived. It was late today, since night had already fallen. They’d taken advantage of the stable weather for their final run back from town.Everything was safely stored inside and didn’t get soaked.

“I’m going to move some furniture around,” Camriel said.He wanted to shift some of the dressers they’d stolen from the resort into his bedroom.

“I’ll help you,” Amaros offered.

“We’ll get started on cooking Bambi’s mom,” Grace said in a sour tone. She was glad for the fresh meat, but felt bad every time she ate venison.

Zoe felt warm inside and it wasn’t because of the fire that was blazing in the kitchen. The big happy family she’d been shown was slowly coming together. The cambions and knights would either find their way to them, or Fate would guide Amaros and his men to them. She just hoped they could rescue all of the females before their sires discovered their whereabouts.

“What’s wrong?”Grace asked as they headed for the pantry. She’d glanced at Zoe to see she looked worried.

“I’m just thinking about the other cambions,” Zoe said.“I hope we can find them before their sire’s do.”

“My knight had better turn up before my pops gets hold of me,” Grace said darkly.“I don’t want to be brainwashed by that psycho.”Neither of them laughed because she wasn’t joking.

“You’ll be safe here,” Zoe reminded her.“We won’t let your dad get you.”

Grace nodded, but she still wished her knight would turn up.The sooner they were bonded, the safer she would be.

Overhearing them, Amaros turned his back before Cam could see his expression.Zoe had foreseen that the teen’s mate wouldn’t be arriving anytime soon.He wished he could ease Grace’s concerns, but he wasn’t about to lie to her.

Camriel was lost in his own plans of making a home for his cambion. His bedroom was now full of furniture. He just hoped it would be good enough for his mate.He was even more concerned that he wouldn’t measure up after the vision Zoe had of her home in Manhattan.
