My mouth fell open, but before I could argue, I clamped it shut again.
Was it really selfish when you had a human boyfriend and wanted to make him feel good so he’d make you feel good in return? Was it selfish when you wanted him to stay in bed to take care of the boner he had unknowingly caused? And was it selfish to want to cook the one dish you had gotten compliments on from previous lovers so he could compliment you as well?
If any of that was selfish, then it was possible I was a little guilty, but humans were worse to each other all the time.
I covered myself with the sheet and shook Ronny by the shoulder again. “You…Ronny, wake up. You really think he left because of me?”
“Hmmm.” Ronny turned on his back and blinked up at the ceiling, then turned to me. “Where’s Chandler?”
“He left! Haven’t you been listening?”
“What do you mean, he left? I thought you meant he’d gone to relieve himself or some such.” He pushed himself up and looked around. “You mean to tell me he actually left the room, and you let him?”
“Itold you that, and you just kept on sleeping and accusing me. What do we do?”
“Well.” Ronny dropped back to the pillows. “First of all, you could get me a bubble tea, because I cannot think when I’m not even fully awake yet. And then we need to figure out why he left. He slept soundly, peacefully. I had his heartbeat in my ear all night, like a slow metronome. He enjoyed watching me take you last night.”
“He enjoyed me sucking him off.”
“Let’s not argue. Go get me my drink.” He pulled the sheet up to his chin and turned on his side. “I’ll wait here.”
I looked down at Ronny and his smooth back where it peeked out from the sheet. For a brief moment, I considered just turning him around until he was on his belly and relieving my erection, but as much as it annoyed me, I would have preferred to have our boyfriend. Chandler really didn’t smell much of magic, but when you paid attention, the delicate scent of him was quite clear under that faint, grassy scent: mint, more subtle than mint usually was, but unmistakable. I liked it, a lot.
“Fine. I’ll get you your bubble tea,” I told Ronny and teleported to my own place for a quick shower and a change of clothes.
“Matcha and lemon. Get up.”
Ronny rolled to the middle of the bed and sat up before taking the tea. I’d gotten cherry and black tea for myself and joined him on the bed.
“I think last night was a success,” Ronny said and began sipping his tea.
I looked over to him. He looked really good like this, naked, the sheet covering just one leg, morning light bringing out his black hair, but while he was not too bad with understanding humans, he was clearly wrong now.
“Are you off your rocker?” I asked, my tone sympathetic. “He left us here. And he told us to leave.”
“Yes, but you’re only fixating on that because of your blue balls. When someone falls asleep in your arms and cozies up to you, they are happy about being near you. They feel safe.”
I frowned, put my tea down on the bedside table, and fished my phone from my pocket.
“Are you calling him now?” Ronny asked as if that were a terrible idea.
“I’m calling Lucy,” I said.
The Devil picked up the phone. “I am busy shopping. Are you calling to inform me that I need to avenge Chandler by kicking your ass?”
Ronny snickered.
“Oh, shut it. And no, Chandler is fine. In fact, the three of us had a pleasant night together, and our boyfriend enjoyed it.”
“Hermes didn’t cum, and now he’s mad,” Ronny said, and I hissed at him.
“Oh, the two of you have come to an arrangement?” Lucy asked.
I cleared my throat. “You see, Chandler wanted to watch porn, and so Ronny and I offered. I mean, obviously we offered. And we might have worked out how to share.”
“I wouldn’t say we worked it out, because you did try to hog Chandler like you did the comforter,” Ronny said.
“I did not.”
