I push the jersey back to her waist, my gaze lingering on the marks I left over pale skin, hiding the scars like I can rewrite the past with my hands, my mouth.
One day, no one will ever touch her wrong again.
No one will hurt her. Or Eli.
But tonight? Tonight is just for us.
CHAPTER 49
FINLEY
“Staring is rude, you know?”
Jayden’s lips curve slowly, his gaze dragging from my ruined panties to my face like he’s got all night.
“Nothing rude about admiring my handiwork,” Jayden says, voice low and molten, curling under my skin as he offers his hand.
Fingers sliding into his, I’m yanked off the sectional with a squeal. Then he’s swinging me over his shoulder like I weigh nothing, one arm locked around my thighs, the other gliding lower, claiming with every press of his fingers.
“I’m not even done yet,” Jayden murmurs, teeth nipping the curve of my ass before he carries me down the hall and tosses me onto his bed.
The bounce knocks a gasp loose. His scent hits instantly—clean soap, warm spice, his cologne settling over me like a second skin. My heart kicks harder as he drags me to the edge of the mattress. Like he’s been waiting for this moment. Like I have too.
A hand lifts my foot to his chest, Jayden’s gaze following the inside of my thigh before pausing on the bruised marks he left earlier.
“Do it again,” I whisper.
His eyes flick up, dark and steady, like he’s memorizing me.
“Where?” Jayden steps closer, thighs pressing to the mattress as he hooks my calves over his hips. Deft fingers work his buttons open while his stare stays locked on mine. “Where do you want my mouth, Finley?”
Words knot at the back of my throat as his shirt falls away. Muscle shifts under skin, moonlight carving over deep ridges, and I can’t think of anything except how much I want to feel all of him.
“Everywhere,” I breathe.
With one hard yank, he loosens his belt. The instant he unbuttons his slacks, they drop to his thick thighs. Leaving his hard length exposed. No underwear, just velvety skin.
Jayden steps out of his pants slowly. No rush as I watch, burning for him.
Then he’s crawling over me, his hand caressing up my leg. As if he can’t bear not to touch me somehow. As though he wants me as badly as I need him.
My pulse trips when Jayden cages me in with his arms. Heat radiates off him, percolating through the layers of my skin to my bones.
“We can stop anytime,” Jayden murmurs, lips brushing mine. “We don’t have to do anything you’re unsure about. We can just… cuddle. Sleep. Whatever you want, Lucky.”
“I’m sure,” I whisper, legs locking at his hips, hands gripping his shoulders like maybe I’ll fall apart if I let go. “I want you.”
A shaky breath leaves Jayden before his mouth claims mine.
The kiss starts slow, teasing. Savoring every second like time’s about to slip away. My fingers tangle in the chain resting against his chest, tugging him closer until his weight sinks into me, heat pressing everywhere.
One hand slides through my hair, the other braces beside my head as Jayden deepens the kiss, tongue stroking mine in long, coaxing swipes.
When his mouth trails lower, grazing my throat, my head tips back, baring more for him. My legs fall open, trembling and wanting, when his lips find the frantic beat of my pulse and linger there like he owns each and every thrum.
“Jayden,” I whisper, the word trembling out on a breath.
He shifts to his knees, lifting me with him until our faces are inches apart.
