Every cell of my being vibrates with anticipation. Excitement thrums in my blood, flaming in my chest when Jayden stops in front of me. Hisbroad shoulders pulled back with the way his hands are tucked into the back of his jeans.

A pensive frown pulls at his brows while he tells me, “What we do here. What happens now. It doesn’t change who we are. How we are out there.” Tipping his head toward the windows, the city lit beyond, he gives me a bashful smile. “I don’t want to lose my best friend, Eli.”

“You won’t.” My mouth is so dry, the words crack.

“Promise. Swear it.”

Holding his unmoving stare, I give him what he needs. “I swear.”

And I mean it with every heartbeat.

I need him the way I need her. No rhyme, no reason. Just fact.

CHAPTER 55

JAYDEN

Eli didn’t want to leave.

That’s the only part of last night he didn’t like. So, I’m going to fix it.

Or at least that was my intention when I told Finley to go put his jersey on.

Then she came out—hair loose, fluffed around her shoulders, the marks I left on her thighs peeking from beneath the hem of Eli’s top—and now I’m a fucking mess.

I want this to be good. For her. For him. I want to give them something they can’t shake, something they’ll crave as badly as I crave them.

“Relax, Hotshot,” Finley says softly, arms winding around my neck, her body warm against mine.

But how the hell am I supposed to relax when Eli is watching us like that? His stare is a physical thing, trailing over the rake of my hands on her thighs, over the jersey that still smells like him stretched tight across her body.

“Kiss me, honey,” she murmurs, mouth skimming my ear like she knows exactly what it does to me. “I want it to drive him as crazy as he makes us feel.”

Fuck. Me.

This woman never stops surprising me.

Her lips trail down my neck, open-mouthed and hungry, while her fingers weave through my hair. A sharp nip to that spot behind my ear rips a shudder through me. My hands clamp on her ass like I need her soft flesh to anchor me when my insides feel like chaos.

This is new for me too. I’ve never done anything like this. Never wanted to. But Eli is watching, Finley is purring into my neck, and I want to give them everything.

I want tobetheireverything.

“How are you so calm?” I whisper, voice rough against her cheek.

“Because I want this. I want you to take me like this, for Elijah to see.”

“Fuuuck, Fin?—”

“Mmm… You’re gonna make me feel so good, JJ.”

The confidence in her voice is as sexy as the sound she makes when I lift her onto my lap, her thighs bracketing my hips. Neck bared, she offers me her throat, and I take it. Teeth grazing, tongue tasting, until she’s grinding on my cock like she can’t help herself.

I glance over her shoulder.

Eli hasn’t moved. His jaw is tight. Hands fisted as he leans forward, elbows on his knees, stare locked on us as though we are the only things that exist in his universe. And goddamn it’s the best fucking feeling in the world.

It twists something deep in me—want and need and something I can’t name—so I fist Finley’s hair, tugging her head back until her chest arches and her mouth parts on a sharp gasp. Eli leans forward a fraction more, his gaze dragging from my hand in her hair to my mouth on her throat.
