“How long do you think is reasonable for us to be in here before we can go and him believe I gave you a blowjob?”
“The real question in that is how good are you?”
She forced a scowl, although a laugh itched to break free.
He laughed.
Her smile over the absurdity of everything couldn’t be suppressed. She laughed so hard she swiped away tears. Then she dramatically rolled her wrist to look at her watch. “Yep, I’d say four minutes is plenty of time for you to come apart in my mouth. But we have to make you look a little less together after that.” She leaned in and tugged his shirt out of his pants. No missing his erection.
He sucked in air when her hand swiped close to touching.
She couldn’t resist leaning her body into his to be sure to press her pelvis tight to his arousal. Hoarsely, she whispered, “You’d totally give me the code, but I’d enjoy every freaking moment of making you lose your mind.”
“Are you fucking with me right now?” His entire body remained stiff with his hands at his sides.
“No.” She fisted a wad of the cloth of his shirt over his pecs in each hand. “I don’t know what it is about you, but I feel whatever this is between us. Believe me, I’m tempted. And, Noah?”
“Yeah,” he said on a ragged exhale.
“I’m not good at sayingnowhen I’m tempted.” She leaned in and put her nose against the exposed skin of his upper chest and inhaled. She rolled her head away to rest her ear against his chest, hearing the thump-thump of his heart. He smelled amazing. “Not good at all.”
“Tori, take two steps away or I will have you against the wall. I’m not a saint.”
She forced her hands to release his shirt. Before she stepped away she whispered, “This doesn’t mean the wall scenario doesn’t tempt me. But I won’t be manipulated into it by a gaming asshole.”
He gripped the back of her head and leaned in. Kiss coming. She put her fingers over his lips. “Stop. I want it, too. Don’t get me wrong. But now isn’t right.”
After he sucked in a breath he straightened and backed away from her. “Let me grab my wallet and we’ll head out.”
“Why exactly am I here this morning?” She wished for more sleep, but she liked seeing him. And making him come unglued.
“FBI meeting during the brunch.” He disappeared into the kitchen and reappeared a moment later. “Let’s go.”
“No. I shouldn’t go anywhere near the FBI, not after Symphis’s text.”
“How much do you want that code?”
She wasn’t sure, but if there was a chance they might give it to her if she met with the FBI, then so be it. “Just remember he’s watching us the moment we step outside your place,” she said.
As they rode the elevator down she prayed for the numbers to move faster. God probably didn’t listen to her anymore, but it didn’t stop her hoping this once he might. She’d been a solid Catholic kid growing up, although she hadn’t attended a service since her father died two years ago. Maybe she should attend this week. She needed any and all positive juju possible.
Her stomach growled.
He gazed at her grumbling stomach. “Skipped breakfast?”
“Late night.” She smiled wryly. “I was kind of in a hurry to get going after I got the call this morning. No time for food.”
They rode in silence for a few moments, each gazing at the other.
Hoarsely, he said, “You’ve got to stop staring at me as if you’d be happier if I ripped off your clothes.” He cleared his throat. “I had a good time last night…just now, didn’t you?”
“I did.” She glanced toward the cameras in the corner and then met his gaze. His deep blue eyes drifted off her lips and up to her eyes leaving no question he’d been dwelling on things to do with her lips.
The elevator floor numbers seemed to be decreasing at an epically slow pace. Sweat gathered between her breasts. “We’ve got to get out of this elevator.”
He leaned in close to her ear. “Why? Worried you can’t keep your hands off me?”
More concerned Symphis will do something again.“I’m worried about you doing whatever comes withthatlook and my lips in a public place.”
