“Only do what you want, dragonfly.”
She licked his tip and sucked him as deep as she could. His words strangled into a moan of bliss. For the first time ever she wanted to rock her partner’s world to the point he’d lose control. Something about Noah tempted her, pushed her. Maybe it was her competitive nature. He’d already demonstrated ownership of her body. Now she needed to prove she could command his. Years ago at the prompting of a particularly nasty ex she’d studied how to do this, but never used the info. Now directions surged to the fore of her mind. Relax and breathe. After a few seconds it worked. His cock bumped against the back of her throat.
“Oh God,” he groaned.
She chuckled, feeling him tense at the vibrations. With each deep movement he became more rigid. She teased, pumped and sucked.
“I’m so close,” he groaned. And then he was pumping his release into her mouth. In this moment she owned a small piece of this man. She wiped her lips as his eyelids drifted closed. “Let’s rest for a bit.”
She tucked in close to him with her head on his shoulder. She liked this. Hell, she liked him a lot. Liking led to love.
No, she was not in love. Not this fast.
He touched her face. “You sure you’re okay.”
“I’m good with all this, but I’m remembering why I’m in your life. This isn’t supposed to be real. It’s about your brother and saving the future of gaming.”
He kissed her gently. “No regrets. Remember? Did I mention how beautiful you are?”
“I think you already said that.”
“Good.” He pulled her close.
Damn it, she liked him too much.
Tori stared at the night shadows teasing across the ceiling, wondering where Noah was. The digital clock on the nightstand read ten p.m. She should probably go home. A sleepover seemed more permanent than she’d signed up for, although it’d look great to Symphis.
He’d folded her clothes and put them on the side table. Thoughtful. They were still warm from the dryer. So, they hadn’t been there long. With a smile, she slowly dressed.
She padded barefoot to the TV room where she retrieved her shoes. No Noah.
His voice came from the kitchen. She marched in that direction but slowed, realizing he was on the phone.
Noah said, “She’s got tentacle arms, Jake. You know how that goes. Hard to avoid.” Pause. “Yeah, I know. Why couldn’t it have been someone else? Someone not a girl? Then I wouldn’t have to deal with this.” Another pause and a long sigh. “Yeah, I got it. I’ll handle it. Swear I won’t screw it up. It’s only temporary, right?”
He thought…that about her?
Why couldn’t it have been someone else? Someone not a girl?
All he’d said before about her not being alone in this had been total bullshit. She couldn’t breathe over the pain as her heart fractured into a zillion pieces and her dignity deflated. She was an inconvenience; a problem he couldn’t wait to be done with.
She had no regrets, right?
Almost none. She’d given him everything and like an idiot thought he’d been there with her, feeling the same…giving the same.
Oh, hell. She’d fallen for him. Totally. But he hadn’t fallen for her, too.
