“I've stopped denying it a while ago. You know that.” I lick my lips, my heart pounding in my chest at the way he’s lookingat me. It’s like he wants to devour me right here, in front of everyone.

“Yes. But you also had that bit of worry and guilt at the back of your mind. Now that your mom knows, you don’t have to worry about that. So, this trip, don’t overthink, just feel.”

“W-what are you planning, Owen?” I ask, eyes flicking between his.

He lets out a low chuckle that ignites a fire in my belly. “So so many things, baby.”

“Be good,” I hiss, eyes flicking over his shoulder to where our parents are still watching.

“Good?” He laughs, and god if it doesn’t do dirty things to my insides. “I have no plans on being good on this trip, Laney. But if you want to, you can be good. Be my good girl and let me do all the naughty things to you.”

My thighs threaten to clench together, but I behave myself and do my best to give him a stern look.

“Owen,” I growl back in warning.

“Mhm,” he hums, biting his knuckle. “I sure do love it when you growl my name. But I like it better when you're screaming it.”

Holy fucking hell. This man. He’s going to be the death of me.

Thankfully, the sound of a car pulling up catches everyone's attention. A limo parks a few feet away from us, and Kai gets out of the back.

My stomach flutters with excitement, heat pooling low in my belly as he gets to his full height, standing there looking all sexy and casual. He’s in a pair of jeans that hug him in all the right places, and a white T-shirt that does nothing to hide his muscled arms.

He flashes me a grin that has me swooning, but his gaze doesn’t stay on mine for very long. Finding Elijah, he gives him a heated look that has me smiling.

How could I almost forget about the two of them? A giddy excitement takes over me as I rush over to Kai. He catches me with a chuckle, and I wrap my arms around his neck. “Hi.”

“Hi, Sweetheart.” He cups the back of my head with his massive hand and pulls me down for a kiss that leaves me feeling like putty in his arms. “I missed you,” he murmurs against my lips.

“I missed you, too.” Even though it was only a night. So much has changed in the past twenty-four hours, and I’m so damn glad it’s all been for the better.

At least, I hope it’s been.

“How was last night?” I ask, wiggling my brows.

Some girls might get upset over the fact that their boyfriends have had a past and currently have feelings for one another. But I don’t. They knew each other before I even came into the picture. And while I don’t know all the details of their past, I know they have something. I could see it with my own eyes. If the two of them can talk it out and make it work, I won’t be the one to come between them.

It would make me one hell of a hypocrite if I did.

Kai glances over to Elijah, then back to me. “Good,” is all he says.

I squash his face between my hands, making him chuckle. “I want details.”

“A man doesn’t kiss and tell,” he taunts, giving me a wink.

My lips part in shock, eyes dancing with excitement as I look between him and Eli, who’s staring at us in what I think is... horror? Embarrassment? Shock? All of the above? And the poor man’s cheeks are so pink. I almost feel bad.

“Ugh. To be a fly on that wall,” I sigh.

Kai chuckles, slapping my ass before setting me down on my feet. “Naughty.”

“You say that as if it’s a bad thing.” I give him a playful grin back.

“What have I gotten myself into?” Kai groans.

“Oh, don’t act as if you don’t love it.”

“Mhm,” he hums, looking me over like he loves what he sees. “I do.”
