“You're not going anywhere,” Owen chuckles. “You're my little heater for the weekend.”
“You're lucky I like you,” I grumble, giving in to the cold, ice-like touch.
“You know what’s a better way to stay warm?” Owen asks, a hint of mischievousness in his question.
“Enlighten me.” I smile into his chest, having a very good idea of what he’s about to say next.
“Body heat.”
“You have my body heat. You're using me as a blanket,” I point out teasingly.
“Nakedbody heat. Your body against mine. Nothing between us.” His tone dips lower as he grips my hips to hold me in place while he rolls his against me.
“You're such a hornball,” I giggle.
“For you. Always.” He kisses the top of my head.
We lay there in comfortable silence. It’s not until the guys are done bringing in the wood and getting a fire going that Owen releases me from his clutches.
“Now that's much better,” he sighs.
“What’s the plan for the night?” I ask, getting to my feet.
“How about I show you around the place. We can pick rooms, get settled, and then maybe play a game?”
“A game, you say?” Owen rubs his hands together gleefully. “I vote for strip poker.”
“As much as I love a good game of poker, I have no interest in seeing you or Logan naked, thank you very much.” Kai chuckles, tossing another log into the fire.
No one misses the fact that he didn’t mention Elijah in that comment. Logan and Owen look at their brother with questioning brows.
Eli’s cheeks go bright red, unable to meet his brothers’ eyes. “I’m going to find a room,” Eli mutters, leaving the living room to explore the rest of the cabin.
“I’ll grab your bag,” Kai says, following after Eli.
“Okay, what the hell is that?” Logan is the first to speak, his eyes flicking over to mine, where he was just watching his brother leave.
“I wasn’t the only one who didn’t miss that comment, right? Why did he only say mine and Logan’s names?” Owen asks.
“Stop,” I warn the two of them. “Leave them alone.”
“Them?” Logan’s eyes widen. “There’s a them?”
Crossing my arms, I glare at the two of them. “If there is, is that going to be a problem?”
“Fuck.” Owen blows out a breath, running a hand over the back of his neck.
“Well?” I push for an answer. Because if there is going to be an issue for the two of them, I’m not going to be happy.
“Eli likes guys?” Logan blinks in confusion.
“And girls,” I point out.
“So he’s... bi?” Logan asks. “Huh.”
“So what if he is?” I’m starting to get defensive, but I can’t help it. I feel protective of Eli. Over all of them really.
“It has nothing to do with the fact that he likes guys, or girls, or both. It’s that it’s with... Kai.” Logan’s brows scrunch. “He’s so old.”
