“You hurt my boyfriend.” I glare at Owen.
The smile falls from his face. “I did not.”
“Just for that, I’m sleeping with your other brother tonight.” I grin, loving the dark promise in Owen’s eyes.
“You play dirty, baby girl. You're not nice.”
“Oh. I’m nice. Sooo nice. Just ask your brother.” I can’t help but laugh.
“Which brother?” Eli asks, stepping into the room. His hair is wet from the shower, otherwise, he’s dressed and ready to go.
“There he is!” Owen cheers, getting to his feet as he starts to clap. “My little brother. The man. The moaner. The pussy destroyer.”
“Would you fuck off,” Eli growls, flipping his brother off, cheeks turning bright red.
“Not going to lie, bro. I’m jelly. I haven’t gotten to be inside our girl in, what? Weeks?”
“Go cry alone in your room then,” Eli mutters. “I haven’t had her since the summer.”
“Really?” Owen’s brows jump.
“Sorry, we’re not all hornballs like you.” Eli glares, taking a seat at the table. “Some of us like to get to know the person before getting their dicks wet.”
“Hey now. Play nice.” Owen frowns. He bends over and picks up the muffin he threw at Kai. “Here. For you.” He tosses it to his brother.
“Ew. That was on the ground. What the hell?”
“Give me that.” Kai snatches it from Eli’s hands and replaces it with a new one. “Here. And here.” He places a plate of food on the table. “Eat.”
Eli looks from the muffin to the plate of food, and then up to Kai’s retreating back.
I’m smiling, unable to stop myself, as I give Eli a look that saysTold you so.
He blushes hard, placing the muffin on the table and picking up his fork.
“It’s so weird,” Logan whispers so that only I can hear. “And oddly cute.”
“I know, right?” I smiled up at him. “I love it.”
“You really are one of a kind, Delaney Jones,” he says with this adoring look in his eyes that makes my belly swoop.
We eat and make small talk. When we’re done, we work together to clean up before heading out for the day.
First up. Skiing.
“I fucking hate this!” Owen shouts, tossing his poles onto the ground. “I can stay on a fucking surfboard on moving water, but can’t even stay standing on solid snow.”
“Don’t be hard on yourself. Skiing isn’t for everyone. If you want, you could try the bunny slope,” Kai suggests, but I hear the teasing humor in his voice.
“I hate you,” Owen hisses. “I hate all of you. I’m going to hang out in the resort. Where there’s heat and coffee.”
Unhooking his feet from the skis, he takes off, stomping towards the building.
“I just don’t get why he didn’t try the snowboard. I feel like he would have been better at that,” I comment, trying not to laugh. I feel bad for him, but on the other hand, it was also pretty funny to watch him fall on his ass.
“Because Owen is being a difficult asshole for some reason and wants to make things harder than they need to be.” Logan frowns, watching his brother leave. “What’s gotten into him?”
Right before we left, Owen got a call that he excused himself to take. When he came back, I could tell there was something wrong. He acted like he was fine, but I knew he wasn’t.
