I close them, unable to look at him right now. Not after what just happened.

“Look at me, Eli,” he commands. My eyes snap open. “Don’t hide from me.”

“I just came in my fucking pants like a teenage boy,” I say through gritted teeth, trying not to cry. So many emotions are flowing through me; it's too much.

“And it was so damn sexy.” He rolls his hips, pressing his very large erection against my lower belly. “Do you feel how fucking hard you make me?”

And just like that, my cock perks back up again.

He presses a kiss to my lips, then my nose, before pressing a lingering one on my forehead. I fucking melt. This man. I’m not ready for him.

“Next time.” He pulls back. “I want that in my mouth.”

He takes a step back, leaving me standing there with wide eyes and parted, swollen lips. “Have a good night, Tiny Dancer. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

I stand there, unable to think, to speak, to move, as I watch him take off down the street.

What the fuck was that?

Closing my eyes, I lean against the wall, trying to wrap my mind around what just happened.

All I know is that it was one of the hottest moments of my life. And I want to do it again. And so much more.

But is that really a possibility? Could I be with both KaiandLaney?

No. No, that seems way too good to be true. There has to be some sort of catch... right?

Because there’s no way the universe would let that happen.

Chapter 7

Delaney

“I hope you have so much fun,” Mom sighs, hugging me tightly. “God knows you all deserve it after the year you’ve had.”

“Thanks.” I hug her back just as tightly. “Not gonna lie, I think this is exactly what I need.”

A week away from reality, with time to spend with some of the most important people in my life, sounds like the best way to spend the holidays.

“I couldn't agree more.” Mom kisses my cheek before her small, soft hands cup my face. “I’m so proud of you, Delaney.”

The sudden change in emotion hits me, stinging the back of my eyes. “Mom,” My voice cracks as I bite the inside of my cheek to keep me from crying.

“Really, I am.” She gives me a watery smile. “You are the best daughter anyone could ask for. You came to this town for me.”

“Mom–” I start to protest, but she shakes her head.

“No. You did. Because you wanted to be closer to me.”

“I did. Because I wanted to. Not because you guilted me into it,” I assure her.

“Still. You came here, started your whole life over in a new place, and accepted a new family into your heart. That big, beautiful heart you have.” Tears spill over her cheeks now, and she’s killing me because I’m seconds away from following after her. “You sacrificed so much to make the people around you happy. You didn’t have to. But you wanted to.” I did. No one asked me to do the things I did when it came to Logan and Benny. I did them because I cared about them, loved them. I’m the kind of person who will do anything in my power for the people I love.

“Now, it’s your time to be happy.” She sniffs, wiping at her eyes. “I need you to be happy, Laney.”

My brows furrow. “I am happy, Mom.”

She shakes her head. “No, baby. I mean, I want you to really be happy.” She gives me a secretive smile. “It doesn’t matter who it’s with.” She lowers her voice. “Or how many people it takes to fill that big heart of yours.”
