“Thanks.” I give him a blank look. “You do know I’m dating the guy too? And I’m younger than Elijah.”
“But he’s his stepcousin,” Logan pushes.
“And you're all my stepbrothers. Wanna try again?” I raise a brow.
Logan sighs. “Okay, point taken.”
“Why didn’t he tell us?” Owen asks, sounding hurt.
“They have a past, one I don’t know the details about. That's a conversation you're going to have to have with Eli. But based on what I do know, I think Eli thought it was all in the past. It was my dating Kai that brought things back up.”
“Huh,” Logan hums.
“So this isn’t going to be an issue?” I ask.
“With us? No,” Owen says with confidence. “Not gonna lie, gonna take some getting used to. But I don’t care what gender my brother likes. I just want him to be happy. But what about you?”
“What about me?”
“How do you feel about all of this? Kai is your boyfriend. Are you okay sharing him?”
“Why not? You're all okay sharing me. If each of you can share me with three other people, I think I can share them with each other. It’s not like they have feelings for someone outside this group. I’m not sure I’d be okay with that.”
“No worries from us. I think I can speak for Logan when I say we have no interest in Kai in that way,” Owen chuckles.
“I agree. Nice guy. But I don’t see him that way.” Logan smiles.
“Glad we could get that settled.” I laugh, shaking my head. It warms my heart to see these two so okay with this. They love their brother, they want him happy. That's all there is to it.
Honestly, I’m so glad my mom met James. If she didn’t, I wouldn’t have met these guys, and I can’t see my life without them.
After Eli and Kai come back, the rest of us grab our bags and bring them to our rooms.
“Ah, there’s only four rooms,” I point out when I’m the last one in the hallway.
“Oh no.” Owen grins, leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed. “Looks like you’re just going to have to bunk with one of us.”
“Guess I’m gonna have to,” I sigh, playing along. “Hey, Elijah. You okay if I share a bed with you?” I ask when Eli steps out of his room.
Owen’s smile drops as Eli gives me a deer-in-the-headlights look. “Ah, sure.... Okay. Yeah. I’m fine with that. If you're okay with it.”
His nervous ramble is adorable. I’m not the only one who thinks so from the soft chuckle behind me.
“I meant me,” Owen grumbles. “For you to share withme.”
“Oh.” I cock my head to the side. “You didn’t say so. I’m sorry. It's too late now. Next time use your big boy words.” I wink.
Owen grins again. “You're a brat, you know that?”
“I do.” I smirk, laughing as I slip past Eli to place my bag on the bench at the end of the bed.
“You can room with Owen if you really want. I don’t mind,” Eli says, joining me in the room.
“Do you not want to share with me?” I ask.
“No. I do,” he rushes out. “I just don’t want to upset anyone.”
Smiling, I step up to Eli, wrapping my arms around his neck. “No one is upset.” I lean up on my tiptoes to press a soft kiss to his lips. “He’s just being a big baby. I’ll have time for all of you. I promise. We have a whole week together.”
